Given lockdown we’d had to cancel a lunch for my son’s birthday back in March so we were very happy to finally make it here. We were shown into a lovely, cool tent in the car park while our table was readied.

After a drink we went in and were seated. The menus come in nice envelopes sealed with wax, a nice touch. We had a range of starters, red mullet, cheese omelette and beetroot tart, all delicious.

Along with these were crispy whitebait and a range of breads. Mains were a delicious roasted chicken (described by our waiter as a sort of Rolls Royce of KFC!), roast beef and duck with sides of toast potatoes and crispy cabbage with bacon. We also had a cheese board for dessert which came with date bread and wafers.

Pre lunch drinks plus three bottles of a delicious Chilean red pushed the bill, which includes a 12.5% service charge, to the top end of restaurant prices but it was worth every penny.

My sons, who fancy themselves as gourmets about town absolutely loved everything. I’d also recommend the service - polite, attentive, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Our waiters were a credit to the place.

We had a fab time and would strongly recommend for a special family and or friends occasion.

This was the best meal I’ve ever had. It was truly an amazing experience. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The service was exceptional with staff topping up your water and wine. The food was more than excellent and delicious, it was gorgeousnesses!
It is pricey but the service and food is beyond first class. It was worth every penny and certainly you will not be disappointed. It is in a great location...Marlow is a beautiful area.
Unfortunately Tom Kerridge wasn’t there, would loved to have met him.
This was truly an amazing experience. The menus are in an envelope already placed on your table. Complimentary bread and fancy butter was delicious.
I had the vegetarian menu which you need to advise them in advance. It was absolutely delicious. From starter to dessert, every course was amazing.
The restaurant followed Covid 19 guidelines, staff wearing visors and they have complimentary hand sanitizer on your table to take with you.
I would definitely come back and hopefully see Tom Kerridge.
Highly recommend this place. The staff, food, and atmosphere was exceptional.

I booked this room at least 6 months in advance of our Wedding Anniversary and had to pay £325 up front to secure it as we wanted to eat at the renowned Hand & Flowers.
Upon arrival, there is no formal reception for these rooms within the adjoining cottages situated very near the pub. I walked into the bar area to enquire if I was in the right place and I was - the reception is the pub walk in area which was a bit underwhelming.
Our room wasn’t ready until 3pm so we parked up and wandered down the town to have lunch and enjoy Marlow.
Upon our return we were shown to our room which was really quite quirky. The biggest copper bath I had ever seen and the glass shower sat in the main sleeping area. Only the toilet was separate. This was quite strange. There were lovely toiletries 🧴in refillable small containers but there was certainly not enough body gel for a couple using the bath and the shower. There was also no bar of soap.
There was a very small rail tucked away behind the TV (which wouldn’t change channel) but this was difficult to access. The thick bathrobes were on this. There were absolutely no other drawers to put clothes or toiletries which was disappointing. The radio alarm clock beside the bed had been set to 6am unbeknownst to us and we couldn’t figure out how to stop it snoozing and repeating the alarm the next morning. Not the wake up call I wanted at 6am on a Sat morning!
I had read that guests enjoyed cookies etc as a welcome gift. We had a small box of crisps and 2 very small chocolate bars so I was a bit disappointed. A bottle of sparkling and still water were in the fridge with some milk for tea/coffee although no sweeteners just sugar.
There was a welcome letter but as I had mentioned in emails it was our wedding anniversary so perhaps a mention of that or an extra treat would have been really appreciated.
All in all it was alright- quirky and very near the restaurant but certainly nothing to write home about. I guess the price was reasonable for what we got.

I enjoyed a pleasant lunch at The Hand and Flowers in Marlow but unfortunately I did not experience anything that justified the 2 Michelin star rating or price tag. The venue itself is charming although very dark, the service was friendly/attentive and the food was very agreeable. Had the bill been half the cost I would have rated 5 stars but if you’re going to charge £45 plus 12.5% service for a pub lunch style fish and chips (dish only) it really does need to over deliver in every way. Unfortunately it was just a good fish and chips and therefore I can only justify 3 stars based on value. If you are set on visiting a Tom Kerridge establishment whilst in Marlow I would strongly recommend The Coach as a much better value 1 Michelin star alternative. It offers the same standard of food but at more reasonable prices and serves small plates so you get to try more giving you a more rounded experience.

3 of us had a business lunch and we all expected more. Menu was not to any of our tastes and all 3 eventually chose fish and chips. Although it was very good it is not what any one of us would order. Service was poor, unable to describe menu and when we ordered a bottle of wine 2 glasses were brought to table. They did not have any Sauvignon whatsoever and the did not accept American Express. All in all very disappointing and will not be rushing back.

We were shown to the house by a very knowledgeable and friendly member of staff who carried our case. Sheringham in Sunset Cottage is right next door to the restaurant. Parking is at the restaurant.

Due to Covid restrictions the member of staff didn’t come into the house but explained all we might need to know.

We arrived in the room and were immediately struck by how peaceful and serene it felt. The furnishings were good quality, quirky and comfortable.

Fresh milk in a flask in a ice bucket, fresh cookies, pastries and cakes in Kilner jars, the BEST fudge in a little box. Excellent coffee, good selection of tea, water in glass Kilner flasks. Seriously well set up.

The bed was super comfy, everywhere was beautifully clean and the bathroom just stunning. I’ve attached photos.

We had an excellent nights sleep, a very refreshing shower with both overhead and hand held options. Lots of lovely toiletries to use. They have thought of everything you might need. Soft, luxurious towels, beautiful bathrobes and slippers etc etc.

Having stayed in some stunning hotels all over the world, this is by far my favourite. The atmosphere is just right, the staff are just right, the location is just right and the overall effect is superb. It’s not a corporate luxury hotel, it’s a chunk of artful serenity in a crazy world. No surprise you need to book 6 months in advance. It’s just perfect!

We stayed in the Charolais room for my 30th birthday. My husband had arranged for a balloon and personalised signed book from Tom Kerridge to be left in the room.

The room itself is beautiful and has so many special details, from the wax seal on my welcome envelope, the extra treats in little H&F boxes, all the toiletries in cute little H&F bottles and the shower gel smelled amazing! There was also bamboo toothbrushes & shaving sets.

The hot tub was amazing, the room is the family room so big enough for a travel cot & my toddler slept quite well so me & my husband could have a chill in the hot tub & our robes!

Breakfast was beautiful, my toddler enjoyed her Michelin fruit salad & toast! We had the full English & croissant which were all amazing & more sourdough toast!

When we checked out we were given more goodies of water & flapjacks to ‘keep us going until lunch’! Staff, service, food & room were all amazing. I would absolutely love to visit again…maybe on my 40th!

Stayed at Hand & Flowers Marlow in the Limousin room, next door to the restaurant. The room was beautifully decorated and very luxurious. Our table was booked for 9pm. At 8.30 we made our way to the marquee outside for drinks which had a lovely romantic ambience. We were shown to our table promptly and enjoyed a superb meal, certainly the best we've had in the UK.The team were extremely attentive and the gentleman who served us was so charming and funny. He really made our evening. A restful night followed by a delicious cooked breakfast.
All in all a faultless experience.
Thank you Tom, Beth and the A Team.

Dined at Hand and Flowers Restaurant to celebrate a 30th Anniversary. It was a restaurant I had been particularly looking forward to as I am fan of Tom Kerridge’s style of cooking and liked the idea of Fine Dining in the more casual bar setting.
We did go during COVID restrictions so had pre drinks in the tented area, which totally did the trick although slightly chilly. The sommelier was helpful with wine advice and allowed me to sample orange wine before I ordered it and very nice it was too.
I have a slight dietary requirement and I did correspond with the restaurant beforehand, they were very helpful. I had a slightly amended menu which took into account most of what I had advised but still kept it in line with the regular menu. This is thoughtful to make the diner feel like they are still ‘normal’ and not just offer a standard ‘safe’ option.
Everything we had was lovely and anything we had to ask was answered with obvious knowledge and enthusiasm. The whole meal was thoroughly enjoyed. I can possibly relate to other comments about prices compared to quantity of food but in all honesty, we were full and totally satisfied by the end of the meal.
The additional offerings of bread and tasters between courses must be deceiving. So overall no complaints. Would love to go again and even better if we could without any restrictions to see it as its ‘even better, best’

I have reviewed the restaurant separately. The room we had for the night was excellent. It is really clean and comfortable the service exemplary where they are there for you when you need them but are not intrusive. The bed really comfortable, the toiletries are premium and the bath amazing. It is not cheap and you can find it difficult to justify the cost, that said breakfast is one of the best I have had, really recommend the haddock with a piece of black pudding! The little cakes and cookies you get for your stay are delightful. Would definitely recommend staying if you are eating in the restaurant the night before as you can enjoy the delightful cocktail menu without having a dedicated driver.

No there isn't. We parked at Hand and Flowers and just walked to and from Apple House (5 to 10 mins) although there is a free taxi service if you don't fancy walking.
