We stayed here because we just wanted something basic for one night. I wasn't expecting much and didn't have any real issue staying in what we called 'grandma's house' given the price we paid... The issue we had was the pub next door and the smoking area directly below our bedroom window with a lot of noise through till 3am.... More

Filthy Stinking hovel !!!! I really am lost for words to describe this so called guest house. God help anybody booking into it. You have been warned !! The stench of used cooking oil everywhere Filthy old dated furniture and carpets. We didn't even wash or shower and got out asap the next morning. Even refusing our included breakfast. The... More

If you are expecting all the mod cons then don't stay here. If you are happy with basic, clean accommodation that does not cost the earth ...and may be in need of a little up dating (slight understatement), then this place will do you fine. We were lucky enough to get the family room up on the top floor. The... More

It was starting to rain and we were walking the streets of Kirkby Lonsdale in search of somewhere to eat. We found a pub displaying a menu in their window but we'd hit them at a time they weren't doing food. Then we found the Copper Kettle restaurant in a narrow side road. Husband and wife team, Peter and Pam,... More

Accommodation in Kikby Lonsdale can be hard to find, so we were pleased to be able to book last minute and stay so centrally. The couple who own the place were efficient and helpful. It is inexpensive and they offer a three course meal for nine pounds (but we weren't tempted). Some rooms are en suit some aren't. The breakfast... More

Not been up for a couple of years we went up for lunch today and were not disappointed as the three course lunch was just under £8... food was home made and excellent ( as it always has been). Very tight run ship by lovely Pam and Peter.

Don't be put off by the apocalyptic reviews - the accommodation is fair but most importantly clean... if not a little rough around the edges. The hotel itself is located in the centre of town with all of the shops, cafes and pubs just a short walk away. The patrons were welcoming with a genuine interest in ensuring our stay... More

And I don't mean to 1610 when it was built! The owners where pleasant, but that's where this adventure ended Having chatted with them they told us they bought the place in 1979. Clearly this was the 1st and last time they ever decorated or give it a good clean! We are certainly not adverse to roughing it, and indeed... More

We had a good stay at the Copper Kettle and although it has a lot of bad reviews the place was unique and I'd recommend it to others. It was built between 1610 and 1640 and was fascinating to stay there and admire how it was built and how many stories it could tell. The owners are an older couple... More
