Excellent B&B on the C2C route. Very helpful staff and used to C2C guests. Very close to town so easy to get out for dinner and also near outdoor shops to pick up things as needed. Good for 2 nights if you are looking for a break.

What a treat to have scones delivered on arrival with a cold beer. Carol (the owner) provided that extra touch. However, when we asked her to do our laundry (Which it was advertised that she did), she was not too welcoming. I think that we must have been her fifth and sixth load of the day. The rooms were big... More

It's a while since I last stayed here, as Carol reminded me; but that had nothing to do with the Jolly Farmers, just that I'd been passing through in the interim. Outside is a blaze of colour of perennials in pots and tubs (and a joy to see) and tables to sit at, surveying the busy street on sunny days.... More

We arrived early and were admitted warmly to get out of the rain. This is a family run establishment and everyone was friendly and helpful. Tea and scones every afternoon at 4:00 was a lovely touch. Our accommodation was in an outbuilding with a separate sitting room--the perfect spot for the gang to gather for our pre-dinner happy hour. Breakfasts... More

We stayed for three nights, and felt very welcome. The rooms differ in size, but our room had plenty of space and was quiet even though it faced the main road. We were welcomed with scones and tea each afternoon, and the breakfasts were varied and substantial. Carol and her team work hard to make guests' stay a memorable one.

The Jolly Farmers is in a great convenient location in Kirby Stephen as this is the starting and finishing point if you are doing the coast to coast with Packhorse ( who move your bags each day ). Carol has had many years experience of looking after and meeting walkers needs. IT truly showed and we received excellent service and genuine care on our visit at the end of a long walk. Scones and Jam and tea on arrival, time to be on our own and a good standard of bedroom and a high standard of breakfast. Handy... More

Lovely Guest house, stayed in the cottage around the back which was first class very clean with plenty of room the bathroom was huge, stayed as part of the C2C trip so the safe storage of the bikes was essential.
