Very comfortable, clean and friendly stay in a beautiful house. Gillian was lovely and served delicious cooked breakfasts - good variety of choice. Will happily stay again. Great location in the centre of lovely Kirkby Stephen. Parking easy in public car park adjacent to house.
This B&B was absolutely perfect after a long walk from Shap. The owners were very kind and thoughtful, even drying our wet socks for us. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful in a lovely and lively town.
We had a nice stay here, our first trip away since lockdown. We felt fairly Covid safe but our room contained lots of cushions and had a high upholstered canopy over the bed and we thought that this sort of furnishing had been discouraged due to the pandemic. Our bathroom was very small but very clean. We do not normally watch TV when away but, as the weather was bad, it would have been nice to be able to watch the large TV in the lounge especially as no one else was staying and the TV in the room was tiny and high up on top of the wardrobe. Breakfast was very good and the owner was charming.
We had a very nice two night stay at Fletcher House while on the coast to coast cycle. Jill and her husband were very warm and hospitable and made us all feel very welcome. A lovely breakfast to start the day and comfortable rooms. Highly recommend.
We recently stayed at Fletcher House during our coast to Coast to Coast Walk and loved everything about Fletcher House, From the wonderful hospitality, luxurious room, wonderful architecture and cared-for furniture, central location and brilliant breakfast, we were left wanting to return.
excellent stay for day 6 ( and one of the longest days ) on C2C walk.... Had a lovely much needed soak in bath... hosts had provided more varieties of bubble bath etc than Tescos! Home baked cake in our room on arrival plus tea and biscuits and chocolates! They had thought of everything and the breakfast was one of the best with proper coffee and huge variety of tea.... highly recommend
We stayed at Fletcher House for one night while on our coast to coast walk. We absolutely loved it. The room was so nicely done and had all the amenities we could wish for. I’d go back anytime, whether I was on another walking holiday or if I wanted a nice evening away from home. The breakfast was delicious. The bowl of fruit in particular was so fresh and tasty. When we arrived, there were two delicious pieces of cake waiting for us. We also needed somewhere to dry the clothes we washed, and the owner was so kind to take them from us and hang them up. They took all possible precautions to keep us and themselves safe during these unique pandemic times. I highly recommend them.
Fletcher House is right in the centre of this gorgeous village, on the main road. Our room was warm and cosy with period furniture and features. The hospitality was lovely and genuine. Breakfast was fab, well above our expectations, just glad we didn't have any cereal because the cooked breakfast was massive😀. I would definitely recommend this b&b and look forward to going again preferably when its not raining, to get the most from the stunning scenery and nature nearby.
I definitely recommend this lovely B&B . We stayed for two nights and we were very well looked after. Lovely owners. Food is great. Place is wonderfully clean and looked after. Thanks to Gillian and her husband for making our stay wonderful.
On the main strip and easy to find. Well run guest house for walkers. Rack for boots and I asked if I could dry closed and my stuff was taken away and spun and put out on the line before I knew it! Good breakfast options and good local knowledge of the walk. Lovely couple and have a cute couple of older dogs to pet on your stay!
