Just spent 8 wonderful nights at Eastshaw. Beautiful location, excellant lodging. Mick's breakfasts with homemade bread are the best! I will miss my morning greating by Stanley the most adorable black lab. And if you need extra pampering have a massage booked with Carol!. Thanks Mick and Jules for a wonderful stay.

We have just spent a long weekend at Eastshaw Guest House and it was fantastic. Mick & Julie who run the place are so friendly and welcoming that from the moment you arrive, you feel at home. You will also be greeted by Stanley (the black lab) and, if you're lucky, Boris (the elusive black cat). The house itself is...

We just spent three nights at Eastshaw Guest House, where Mick and Julie (along with their black lab Stanley and Boris the cat) were wonderful hosts. They have a unique exclusivity policy which means they only take one booking at a time, even if you're only by yourself, so you have sole run of the lounge and facilities, which really...

Treasured children's author Ruth Krauss once penned, "Everybody should be quiet near a little stream and listen." While I can never know the stream she had in mind, the one that runs behind St Cuthbert's Cottage sets a scene for quiet, cheerful reflection. I spent two happy weeks with my family ensconced in a charming bit countryside near Seaham. Cottage...

I just returned from my second stay at the EastShaw guesthouse (and my husband and I are returning again in October!). We visit Seaham all the way from Alaska. It is one of the most delightful towns we've been to and staying at Guesthouse is the icing on the cake. Mick, Julie and their lovely black lab Stanley make you...

You are such a great advocate for our little town. To travel all the way from Alaska to walk our beaches and tondo so on three visits in 13 months is a wonderful endorsement for our town. Thank you and we'll look forward to seeing you in October.

My husband and I have visited Seaham a couple of times a year over the past three or so years and have stayed at a variety of places in the area in and around Seaham. Eastshaw Guest House is definitely the best place we've stayed yet. It's owned and run by Mick and Julie who have to be the nicest,...

My family and I stayed in the cottage for a few days to attend a funeral. We found it exactly as Mick described, and then some!!!! It provided us with a real home from home at a difficult time. We enjoyed using the wood burner, it was such a comfort in the evenings, as we hosted other visiting family members....
