Bury St Edmunds

Room and bathroom very tired and poorly clearned. Furniture old and dusty, the bathroom needs a full replacement. Breakfast poorly cooked, burnt food. Greene King need to improve the quality of their accomodation to compete with other national brands. This was our third stay in a GK property in the last year and is likely to be the last, as...

Stayed 1 night at the Bell Hotel whilst in Bury St Edmunds for work. Plenty of parking at the hotel, luckily didn't pay and display as it's included in the hotel stay. Check in with the friendly staff was easy, and I was off to my room. The hotel is in need of some redecorating to spruce it up a...

We stayed for 5 nights - the rooms are worn and aged but bed was comfortable. The bathroom door would not shut, the shower was difficult to get a good temperature of water and the tub was slippery and narrow. Enjoyed the pub, the staff and food were good.

I booked The Bell in for a short break with my mother, and to see family who live locally. From check-in to check-out we had a great time. They originally put us on the 2nd floor, but there is not lift, we were moved to the first floor for mother access. The room they re-allocated had not been made up,...

Restaurant wasn't open so either ate in the lounge or bar which wasn't ideal if mobility was a issue which it was for us. One half group went up to buy their food then other half went and buy their food stating we wanted it brought out all at the same time which just didn't happen. The first round of...

Stayed at the Bell Hotel for one night mid-week on business and all things considered, I really enjoyed it. No problems at check in where I was given everything I needed to know. Have to agree with some other posts regarding staff shortages. I was in the bar before the restaraunt opened and was surprised to hear that the same...

I have known of the Bell for many years and always wanted to stay there but I was disappointed. The room was tired with damaged wallpaper and paint peeling around the windows. The courtesy cups were dirty and had to be changed, there was a bin full of an earlier guests' rubbish and the TV controller didn't work because the...

A very quick visit for us - arriving at 9pm and leaving before 9am the next morning. The welcome was good, room fine, breakfast was ok. Location is great - right in the centre. It was disappointing that there were no details of the history of the hotel in the room. It is an old coaching inn, and we only...
