Really enjoyed our night's stay in this cosy hotel. Decor is tasteful, relaxed and homely. Our standard room (no. 7) had a huge, comfortable bed and the dog was equally well provided for with her own bed, towel and dog treats. Fresh milk and delicious homemade flapjack also in room. The food was a particular highlight here. Shared Chris' Slate...

Very well located close to the centre of Wells and, for the area, a fair price to pay. It's not cheap around here but the quality at this hotel represents value for money. We had a great room in the grounds and ate in the restaurant that night. The staff are all fantastic, friendly and nothing is a bother to...

Second time here and still superb! Very friendly welcome (for dogs too). Superb specials, my wife's salmon was the best thing she has eaten for a long time. I had the haddock gougons, my favorite from the Flying Kiwis kitchen and my son had an amazing basket of chicken and fries. Great food, great beer and wonderful staff. You must...

Having eaten at the Crown on many occasions I have always wanted to stay there, so, when we wanted to get away in January I thought it would be ideal. It was a very good choice. We loved it! Our room was very good, spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff were charming and very attentive. We went with some...

Oh dear. The Crown was where I proposed to my wife at the millennium. Even then it was not the same as 20 years before. It is just so full of stuffed shirts who drive Chelsea tractors. It is what Burnham Market was 40 years ago. Such a shame. I am sure it is great for the owner but it...

I'm sorry you feel that The Crown has changed for the worse, but I'm confident the majority of our guests and visitors would disagree with you. I won't comment on your "stuffed shirts and Chelsea tractors" observation save to say that my hotel is equally popular with locals of all ages as it is with visitors to the town, and...

This review covers the restaurant only, but the feel of the hotel was good and the bar and other public spaces had a nice atmosphere. Service from friendly staff was excellent and we were very impressed with the quality of the food. It was a cold Saturday night in January, the restaurant was fully booked and there was a great...

Just one night in the Crown was enough to get feel of this well run and smart hotel, I was given a room in a modern extension a moments walk from the hotel. The room was warm, very well equipped and comfortable. £110.00 was a little high but it's a business not a hobby and if you've had a busy...
