Overlooking a pretty, leafy Georgian square in the bustling seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea, The Globe Inn with 19 rooms is a great base for a break on the beautiful north Norfolk coast or an ideal spot for a pint of beer and some simple, home cooked food. Accredited with 4 stars and a silver award by Enjoy England, the Inn offers exceptional quality in all areas. We are also proud to have been approved by the Visit England Cyclists Welcome, Walkers Welcome and Welcome Pets schemes. There is a sun-filled courtyard for alfresco eating and dining and a perfect spot to read your morning paper whilst having breakfast. Take a short walk down Staithe Street to the quay and you’ll see fishermen setting out on a good tide for inshore crab, whelk and the passing sea trout and bass. The town offers a central base for the nearby beautiful Holkham Beach with more than four miles of golden sand, and the world-class bird watching sites of the Holkham Nature Reserve, Cley-next-Sea and Titchwell.

We have just had a 4 night break at the Globe and can fully recommend. Fantastic room (18) , professional and courteous staff, excellent breakfasts and evening meals. All drinks were ordered on app, which, if time was taken to set up correctly , worked a treat, despite a few moaners and groaners! Globe is in a quiet, central position . It dosent have a car park so parking can be a bit of a bind but that didn't take away from the holiday. We will return one day, hopefully to room 18.

Spent 15 min ordering on the stupid app only to be told by a rude young girl the the courtyard was closed and we couldn’t have a drink in there the gate was open and no sign to explain that so asked for my money back which wasn’t a problem apart from the waitress attitude shame really because spent many a afternoon in there in the past

So disappointed, we visited The Globe last September and have also been many times before but what a change from our last visit, we arrived early to be told wait outside we are not ready, then we have to remind them we were there to then be told they had forgotten us. The worst was yet to come, we were then squashed into a tiny seating area that should have seated no more than 4 yet there was 6 of us! Last time I had battered fish and triple fried chips which I loved and ordered again, nothing like last time and chips were almost rare, not triple fried! Hence we left and had desert at home.

We spent 3 nights here and it was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful. Everything was Covid safe and the technology installed limited contact. The room we had, no 19, was lovely, very spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and beautifully decorated. We ate in for one dinner which was really good perfectly cooked and well presented; the breakfasts were very good and had a good selection. Would highly recommend this pub which is very central and well placed to walk to the quay, beach and other amenities. Thank you to all the staff!

Arrived on the off chance for lunch and was delighted to find a Cafe table for two in the outside quadrangle. Food choice very good and Moongazer beers always welcome. Sitting beside the Wisteria was an added bonus but the main thing I liked was the new ordering system. Camera on the QR code at the table brings up the full menu and you order via this (paying via Apple Pay) and all done and dusted. No waiting around at the end to catch the eye of the waiter. One or two people arrived and didn’t like this but hey it’s the way to go!
