This place is magical. When you arrive the whole setting takes your breath away. It's a little bit of heaven and the pictures do not do it justice. I think with it being a castle I had envisaged something cold, a little outdated and a little rustic. On the contrary, this place is amazing. When you walk in you are met by a warm, delightfully restored, beautifully impressive country home. Every room exceeds expectations. The decor is incredibly tasteful, the attention to detail second to none. Our bathroom with its beautiful cooper bath and Penhaligon products allowed ultimate indulgence. There was never a time where we didn’t feel incredibly spoiled. The real fires, the beautifully presented candle lit dinning room, the fresh flowers all creating the perfect ambience. The firewood is constantly replenished seamlessly. The breakfast and dinners were akin to any 5 star hotel. Alans team are lovely, never imposing on their guests, although always at hand to ensure your stay is carefree. This was a one off family celebration and each and everyone of us loved every minute. We all want to do it all again, although next time ill aim to hit some of the clays when we are doing the pigeon shooting. I can’t thank Alan and his team enough for making this stay so memorable we hope one day we will be back.…
We promised the grandchildren a weekend in a Scottish castle and no one was disappointed. This is a beautiful place - with a commanding location outside North Berwick, carefully restored, thoughtfully furnished, warm and homely. Alan and his team were wonderful. There was plenty of room for 11 of us, fabulous cooked breakfasts, one catered evening meal in the candle lit dining hall and a dressing up box. Plenty to do out and about too.
We recently visited Fenton Tower for a team building work trip and were on cloud 9 following our stay. The Tower itself is stunning, cosy and perfectly maintained, whilst the hospitality from Alan and his team was spot on. With a number of activities organised throughout our stay including a murder mystery eve, 4 course (well 5 including the wonderful pre dinner canopes) and a morning of clay pigeon shooting, every aspect in the lead up to our stay was managed and organised so seamlessly. We loved it! Now we just need to find another excuse to return.
stunning location, very nice, had no contact with any staff, so cannot comment! did not stay in a room, so no comment. dancing downstairs a bit cramped, but enjoyed the lounge area upstairs to chat to friends
We golfed from Inverness to Edinburgh, and stayed in marvelous places, but Fenton Tower was definitely the highlight of our trip. A true fairytale setting, brought to life by manager Alan and the staff. The amazing thing was being there on our own, as if in our own home, but with everything prepped and ready (fire laid). Meals were wonderful, and the service friendly and attentive. Although this is a renovated historic estate, everything functioned properly and no comforts were sacrificed. Truly memorable!
