The roaring log fire, grand dining hall and charming, antique filled bedrooms make this the ideal place to spend Christmas, even if it is blowing a gale outside..maybe especially if it is blowing a gale outside

If you are looking for something private, special & amazing this is the place. Meticulously restored 16th century tower with only 6 rooms. One of the owners, John, spent time sharing the details of bringing this treasure back to a beautiful property. Anyone with discerning taste in design will appreciate their attention to detail and the gorgeous antiques and art...

It's hard to even begin to describe it. Your amazing experience at Fenton tower begins even before you arrive. Allan is amazing and he will organize your stay and have loads of great suggestions. It's very close to Edinburgh (92 pound cab fare from the airport). The little town of North Berwick is quintessential Scotland. It's so picturesque! And then...

I took my children to Fenton in June and stayed for about 10 days - I cannot imagine a better holiday! We enjoyed our meals at the Tower, our dinners were the most amazing experiences, the caterers outdid themselves and made it so that our dinners in were far more amazing than our dinners out! The atmosphere is wonderful, relaxing...

Six adults and six children took over Fenton Tower for a special birthday celebration. Amazingly there were no lots drawn or any negotiations about who got which room as they were all equally attractive. The children took to castle life instantly - the five year old marvelling at the "curly" stairs - and all of them enjoying the freedom to...

Other reviews summarise how special Fenton Tower is as a building. I just want to add something about the service. It was extremely good indeed when we visited. The staff could not have been better organised, more accommodating or friendly. The venue itself is special and they made it doubly so. We will definitely be back.

Fenton Tower is a fantastic manor / castle where you'll feel like a king during your stay. It's been beautifully restored and each room has its individual touch with ensuite bathroom. Activities can be requested like salmon fishing and clay shooting. You'll not forget this experience and we wish to be able to come back again

I have had guests of mine from all over the world stay at Fenton Tower and it is a Scottish experience not to be missed. The castle is beautiful, intimate and full of charm. Alan and his team have the balance correct, great service, but a relaxed vibe in the castle, means you can stroll around in your jeans and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A unique Scottish Castle . . . Fenton Tower is a magnificent, fortified; 16th Century tower located 18 miles East of Edinburgh near the coastal town of North Berwick. The castle's location was originally chosen in the 11th Century because it afforded panoramic views in all directions and has had many distinguished visitors, among them being King James VI of Scotland (son of Mary Queen of Scots and Lord Darnley) who took refuge there as he fled from the rebel army in Fife across the Firth of Forth. The Tower has now been meticulously restored, and opened in 2002 to provide 5-star accommodation for up to 12 guests. Set amongst rolling countryside and surrounded by many of the worlds' most famous golf courses (Muirfield, Gullane & North Berwick) Fenton Tower is the perfect base for a magnificent golfing experience. The location of the Tower makes it ideal for all kinds of country, sporting and recreational activities. Arrangements for parties of up to eight guns for Grouse, Partridge and Pheasant shooting, as well as fly fishing on the rivers Tweed and Tyne can be arranged. With horse riding, archery, and 5-star local attractions (including The National Museum of Flight, home to Concorde, and the Scottish Seabird Centre) all within a stones-throw of the Castle, your visit to East Lothian will be one you will want to repeat. . . . An unforgettable welcome A visit to Fenton Tower, whether for one night, or one month, will never be forgotten. A warm Scottish welcome, simple luxury and comfortable surroundings await you, with our small, dedicated team there to guide, advise and facilitate your every requirement. You can treat our 20 acres of private land as your own as you daydream by our secluded loch, or just gaze out across the undulating East Lothian countryside. Your stay at Fenton Tower will be like no other. Our team will ensure that your itinerary is as full, or as relaxed as you would like . . . After all . . . This is your castle. ... more   less
