Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Decided to book a stay after eating and spending time there on our last visit to Wadebridge. Family room- double bed and bunkbeds with en-suite bathroom with bath with shower over. Room spacious, with plenty of storage, tea, coffee, hot chocolate sachets and biscuits all good quality. Maybe a little tired but comfortable. Whether you are staying there or not, everyone should try the food. All local produce, homemade and absolutely delicious. Staff friendly and welcoming, great atmosphere. Plus as you're in the town, great to get to places and we walked up the road to get the bus to Padstow. No parking, but enough carparks near.

Risotto came out looking like a plate of sick and didn’t taste much better with the forkful I had before leaving it. Waitress asked how the meal was and when we said it wasn’t great, they didn’t offer to replace it for anything else and just said ok. Luckily a coop opposite, so could grab something quick for dinner afterwards at least.

I sadly had a really bad experience staying here. I'm not one to write bad reviews but as someone who travels on there own quite a lot I feel it's important for others to hear and for hotel management to make some changes. I went up to bed around 10ish and was woken up around midnight by some really loud drunk shouting / banging / crashing to the point where I actually was getting scared... At 3.30am i text and tried calling the landlord before panicking and calling the police. I was really worried they were fighting and i could hear their door opening opposite mine. Of course it isn't the hotels fault that this was happening but I felt very alone. Now this is where I hold the hotel accountable. I found that I was completely locked into the building when trying to let the police in through the entrance and fire door. I was later told the fire escape was unlocked but 'very stiff'. I was down there for about 5 minutes trying it with all my weight while the police officer on the other side did the same. The police then told me to stop and go lock myself in my room while they called a fire engine... 'very stiff' seems very unlikely and seriously not okay for anybodies safety. I'm a young women used to being solo and travelling a lot but this was by far the most scary and vulnerable position I'd found myself in. What if there was a fire? What if the drunken men got aggressive with me or hurt each other? I was completely locked into the building and as far as I knew it was just me and then two very drunk angry sounding people in the building. The landlord called me about a hour after and let me know there were staff in the building (I wasn't aware). The staff member then came up to my floor and checked what was going on by which point the drunken men had stopped (5am and this point). Niether the landlord or the hotel staff checked in on me again and nobody working downstairs when I left said a word about it.

Arrived late on a Sunday evening in Wadebridge thinking it would be a takeaway as many restaurants seemed to have finished meals for the day when we arrived at the Swan Hotel. To our surprise we were still able to get a roast dinner and as it turned out, our order achieved 200 roasts for the day. If the first we’re as good as we got, everyone ate well on what would have been another sweltering day for the chef and all kitchen staff. Well done and thanks to all concerned as we had great portions including 5 veg and superb Yorkshire puddings. Definitely one to recommend when you are in the area.

Staff were friendly, food was amazing and excellent value for money. We were fitted in at short notice as another local restaurant refused to accommodate such a large booking. Thank you very much! 😊😊 Restaurant was very clean and fresh looking, lovely local pub! The food was plenty full and full of flavour. Veg was fresh and seasonal, extra peas & carrots (separate to the veg delivered) were requested and came out hot. Every request was accommodated! Pudding was stunning and themed to Easter, flavoursome and hit the spot! We came as a party of 7, other friends joined us and the staff were welcoming to the others joining us. Tables were pulled up so they could join us.
