Where do I start ... This is the third stay of 2020 at The Olde House and it did not disappoint. From start to finish the whole team could not do more to help us, the cottages immaculate, the farm so much to do - see the animals, walk the trail, the pool is amazing and the slots worked amazingly and I wonder if you will keep this if we return to a “new normal” as it’s so nice to know it wouldn’t be really busy especially when you are marshalling three wild children high on the sea air and Olde House experience !!! The beaches around are amazing even in our July stay we managed to find some quiet spots where we felt totally safe during the pandemic. We came home on Sunday and it was a very quiet 4 hours home as we were all so sad to leave and we are already planning our next break..... thank you to all at the Olde House, you without doubt along with the National Trust saved us this year and we have created so many memories that will stay with the children I hope forever xxxxx

We had an amazing week in the Retreat cottage opposite the pub in Chapel Amble with our little dog. The cottage was spotless and extremely cosy Elaine popped in to make sure we were all ok We had 3 lovely swims - the rota worked really well The food at the Malsters pub was great - we had takeaway from them as well as eating in The St Kew Inn was also lovely Shout out to the lovely EMMA at Mellingey Mill willow weaving - Mum and I had a creative morning making a dragonfly and a heart We managed the rollercoaster section of the coast path - just 3 miles from Port Quin to Port Issac - but took us 3 hours with lots of stops for photos and enjoying the views Thank you all at the Olde House - we have been coming to you every few years for 24 years and will continue to come and enjoy this amazing part of Cornwall

We absolutely loved our stay at The Olde House and had a fantastic holiday. The staff on reception were so helpful even sorting out swimming for us before our allotted check in time. Then the wonderful cottage was immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished. The standard of cleanliness, particularly in these worrying times was outstanding. The facilities on the farm were wonderful even with the Covid restrictions . The swimming rota worked very well indeed and the games room was great fun. My grandson loved the animal barn and the gentleman who worked in that area was fantastic, knowledgeable, kind and brilliant with the children. The farm trail was a great walk, even if we did feel we were in the horror film “children of the corn” for parts of it. To be honest it made it more fun. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Thanks so much for your lovely review. We are working very hard to keep everyone safe whilst trying to maintain the "normality" of a stay here. I will pass your comments on to "Farmer Kev' who looks after the animal corner! We really hope to welcome you back in the future when hopefully everything will be back to normal.

We had high hopes for this break away after being locked down for so long. We stayed in Smeathers, slightly away from the main facilities and I think this did effect the experience so I would definitely recommend staying nearer facilities. The house itself was okay, we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of it (car keys found in lounge tables, jigsaw pieces under the lounge rug) but it was functional for our stay. There was also building works happening next door (shared driveway) but the builders were extremely considerate and not noisy thankfully although we would have appreciated a heads up in advance. The facilities like the pool were great and I have no doubt our experience would have been fantastic staying nearer the facilities. Sadly we would not return to Smeathers.

We're sorry to hear that you felt Smeathers location (1 mile from the main site) impacted on the enjoyment of your stay. This is clearly stated on our website but perhaps, as first time visitors, you hadn't realised that this might be an issue. Many returning customers absolutely love the location of Smeathers, completely surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside. We apologise for the keys hidden in the table stack and the jigsaw piece under the rug - these must have been missed by our cleaning team. Although the barn next door is currently being converted, our builder is well aware of guests staying in Smeathers and works accordingly, and as you say, you experienced no issues. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful pool and other facilities.
