Firstly the location is perfect. Situated down the road from wadebridge which has a Tesco superstore, Aldi and a B and M which always comes in useful. There is also a family friendly pub here which serves very nice food if needed. This site is also very close to Padstow and other well known places. We visited wadebridge, Padstow, Bude, Bodmin and found some lovely little villages along the way.
We spent a lot of our time at Constantine bay on the beach and crabbing in the rock pools. I would really recommend this if visiting.
Secondly the facilities on this site are second to none. The pitches are really well laid out, nicely sized and really well kept. The toilet and shower block is well maintained and we never had a problem with it being too busy in there despite the site being full. There is a washing up area, a place to wash wet suits and even a washing line to dry your clothes once washed on the onsite machine! All of the facilities are kept clean and to a high standard. Even the Elsan point was clean! There is a play park hidden away on the site. It has a really good climbing frame, swings and also a large trampoline. The park is maintained to a high standard keeping children that visit safe.
Lastly the hosts couldn’t do more to make our stay memorable! They are helpful and welcoming and we can’t thank them enough. Always around to help when needed and nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you Sarah and Jo we really appreciate the hard work you clearly put into the site day in and day out.
If you are looking for a great location, facilities and want to be made to feel welcome then this is definitely the site to visit! We can’t wait to come back!
The campsite and on-site facilities are impeccably clean, especially the showers and toilets.
The pitch was a decent size - allowing us to put up a decent size tent, a gazebo and park our large car, leaving a little room still for our little girl to ride her bike.
I was concerned when we arrived that our pitch was right next to the toilet block and dog walking area and worried about noise but everyone was very quiet and respectful.
We only saw the owners once or twice but they were very friendly.
The planting around the pitches allows more privacy than other sites we’ve stayed on which we really appreciated.
The park was well looked after and was great for our 5 year old.
The site is in a great spot too, right between Padstow, Polzeath and other lovely areas of Cornwall. Would highly recommend Camel Creek for a fun family day out (under 7’s I would say), Polzeath Beach (get a pizza from the on beach takeaway) and Strong Adolfo’s for breakfast (£££ but beautiful food).
I would absolutely stay again, thank you so much The Laurels for making our holiday so fab (despite the weather!)
There is a small toilet/shower block, with 2 showers, 3 toilets and 3 basins for male / female guests. The showers are similar to most campsites, with a button for 5 seconds of water at an indetermined temperature; these seem to spray in all directions except onto yourself, and cover everything in water. There are 2 very small hooks in the showers, so I suggest you bring a bag to place your clothes and towel in to stop it getting wet. In the gents there is a small useless step, which I couldn't understand its purpose.
There is a very small dog exercise area, which unfortunately isn't very well constructed as my 10 month old puppy escaped under the fence. So too small for big dogs, and not suited to small / medium dogs. Very few lights, so bring a torch.
Good communication via email and text, in fact we didn't see any wardens / owners during our stay?
My biggest complaint was the response to a request to change our booking to 1 day later. The admin fee for this was as much as booking an additional night (?), and it was suggested I should book direct rather than via a third party. None of this made sense to me, and in the end we just stayed a night less rather than pay the fee.
There are lots of campsites in this area, and we will probably go elsewhere than return.

The dog walking field is tiny
Camping is cramped (2 tents in a small space
Site is next to a busy main road
The showers were warm enough
Finally a personal bug bare of mine, A sign in the shower asking me to Squeegee and mop the floor after I’ve finished is a bit of a joke, this site is on the pricy side about £30 with no electric for one night and now you want me to help clean up, I’m on holiday I don’t need a job thanks 🙄

Our furry little friend also took advantage of the purposely provided exercise area which was fenced off from the rest of the park meaning that some lead free time could also be had by him onsite too.
The location of this little gem is also very impressive with some amazing local “dog-friendly” beaches just a few short miles away.
To put this all into perspective, just 24hrs after our 12hr nightmare journey home, we have booked it again for next year as it was soooooo worth it.
