Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful stay here, dinner and breakfast just delicious and excellent for Coeliac’s, nothing too much trouble and as all freshly made I had so much choice as adjusted where possible. Highly recommend for a stay in Padstow which is such a fantastic town!

So last time we stayed in the ‘best’ master suite which is on a corner (sorry I can’t remember the name). We asked for it again but it was booked so reluctantly and with somewhat bad grace we booked ‘the second best’ one. And absolute win it has air conditioning. As we were there the couple of days in June it was boiling this was perfect. Everything else was very similar. The only potential downside being the rooftop bar area next to it but we never saw a soul. We just love Padstow and the restaurant. Unassuming comfort. We will be back.

Wow what a fabulous place to celebrate a special occasion! We stayed in a Cosy Double room on a celebration package and from the moment we arrived we were not disappointed. The staff were so professional but so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I don’t think I’ve experienced service so good from anywhere I’ve ever stayed. The breakfast was superb and the evening meal in the Seafood Restaurant was absolutely amazing! It was totally faultless, we even had beautiful weather! Can’t wait to return

Food and service outstanding! Very welcoming, a place not to be missed if you are in the area, would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Padstow. Wouldn’t go to Rick Stein's fish take away, as we found this to be very greasy. Nothing more to say.

We arrived and parked in the meadow above the town as directed. In no time we were collected and delivered to the Seafood. No check in, our driver knew which room were in and took us straight there. We ate in the restaurant that night, and everything was fab. The food, the service, and the ambience. Whilst in Padstow we had cocktails in Ruby’s bar. Highly recommended and you can just add them to your room. The rooms all had Cornish names and are beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need. We were in a snug room, so it was one of the smaller ones. Still gorgeous and comfortable. Just treat yourself. Go. Possibly one of then best hotel experiences I have ever had. In the world!

We stayed in an Estuary room for two nights with dinner in St Petrocs one night and the Seafood restaurant the next - now read on. Staff: They are all brilliant. Customer focussed, Courteous and very good at their jobs - no exceptions. You could not ask for more. Room: St Mabyn is very comfortable with views over the Camel Estuary in a seaward direction. The bed is soft but supportive and we both slept very well. There is a sofa in the lounge part with a coffee table in front of the television, tea/coffee and minibar - very homely. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and a good shower etc. Reserved parking (comes with the room) is close by and walkable - you offload bags at the front door and then go and park your car. St Petroc's bistro: we had scallops / crab linguine followed by hake / turbot and sticky toffee pudding / affogato. All the food was delicious but my wife thought the crab was a bit sparse in her starter. Chalky's is worth trying if you are a beer fan. Seafood Restaurant: we both had sashimi for starter which was excellent. Mains were sole / red mulllet stuffed with crab both both of which were delicious. Breakfast offers many choices with traditional fare as well as items like kedgeree - all that we had was delicious. So overall it was a very enjoyable couple of days being pampered and being reminded why we must come back and do it again some time. Thanks everyone.

A recent trip to the West Country starting with lympstone manor , then Rick steins After which we went to the tresanton in st mawes . All were excellent , padstow and rock are special places for me as when I was a kid many many years ago we stayed in a rented house in Rock on the beach and used to come to Padstow for fish and chips via the ferry , at that time this was more or less all there was in padstow. How lovely it was to stay in padstow in November with the crowds all gone to walk the padstow streets and glancing across the estuary to rock The food and the restaurant are excellent , the bar placed in the middle provides extra atmosphere to what had been a rather ordinary room , breakfast there were perhaps the Best in any hotel fluffy scrambled egg lovely sausage plus a buffet with everything you might want . We had a master room , in the summer this is ok with its huge terrace but the room itself is a little small , but still perfectly fitted out . The staff were human beings , very friendly and genuine I booked to stay at Bryn cottage one of their little houses nearby followed by a stay at the hotel in the summer next year we look forward to it This hotel is as friendly and nice as Rick always seems to be - exceptional .

Very comfortable and spacious with a separate sitting area. Beds are very comfortable too with a nice harbour and garden view. They made sure you couldn't take away any of the usually included things like the small bottles of shampoo, body wash, etc, as Mr Stein's missus made the room into a shrine to her various nicknacks, soaps etc, large bottles etc. Even the tea bags were without packaging and on the exotic side. As much as we enjoyed the stay, it really was over-egging the Stein label on pretty well everything but his empire has expanded to various other venues in Padstow. Staff were all brilliant and friendly. But please bring back the little bottles of toiletries, they are the unsung and paid for 'perks' of staying in a hotel.

We booked the Food Lovers package - 2 nights Bed & Breakfast with 1 evening meal in the Seafood Restaurant. On arrival to Padstow we were collected straight away from the designated car park and taken to the hotel. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, the attention to detail in our room and throughout the hotel was exceptional. Our first night we ate in the Seafood Restaurant as part of the package, we could order anything on the menu, which we thought was excellent as we expected a separate menu for package guest. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, so on our second night we ate in St Patroc's (another Rick Stein restaurant) were the food was also to a very high standard and equally delicious. We ate breakfast in the seafood restaurant were the choice was immense and freshly cooked to order. The staff throughout our visit were great and nothing was too much trouble, they would bring us G&T to the roof terrace in the afternoon where we could sip our drinks and just watch Padstow. A special mention to Poppy& Daisy working behind the bar who made us so welcome on our first day and the ladies in reception. To top the whole stay off we were given a beautiful hamper full of Rick Stein goodies to take home with us. We loved all the toiletries in the our room, that I purchased them in the gift shop and now I have the beautiful smell in my home that takes me back to Padstow. Would we stay here again....you bet we would xx
