Where do I begin ?! What a great hotel!

From start to finish everything was impeccable from the service to the amenities. Upon arrival we were greeted in the car park which we could use from 1pm which was a great touch as parking in Padstow can be a nightmare ! We stayed in the Honeycomb suite which was lovely, with its own sitting room with a table for breakfast as well as an amazing bath tub in the huge en suite. When we arrived there were two complimentary incredible home made sticky toffee puddings with clotted cream left in our room for us. breakfast hamper was absolutely amazing and delivered to our door in the morning. It contained locally sourced smoked salmon, croissants, eggs, sourdough bread, granola, juices and yoghurts. One evening when we came home we were greeted with a bag hanging on our door with hot chocolate in a flask and home made pistachio cookies - both INCREDIBLE!

We ate in Cafe Rojano the Italian which was also lovely. My partner who is Italian himself said the food felt very authentic and the staff there were also great. The icing on the cake was when we were leaving the hotel we noticed that our car had been positioned in the car park for us so that it was easy for us to drive straight out as it was quite tight. In the cup holders were bottles of water and some home made brownies for the journey home! What a touch!

Overall I would say this hotel is worth every penny and really made our trip memorable. The location is great , being only a short walk away from everything and the staff were friendly , polite and helpful. Paul Ainsworth should be proud- what a brilliant place!

The recent reviews pretty much sum up The Padstow Townhouse, from the excellent communications ahead of our stay, booking up the various Paul Ainsworth restaurants for us, to making sure everything was spot on during our stay.

All of the staff were very welcoming and our room (Toffee Apple) exceeded our expectations. It was exceptionally clean, the decoration was stylish but not over the top, the bathroom was spacious with a lovely shower and the fixtures were all from high quality brands and the finish is of a high standard. Clearly a lot of thought (and money) has gone into each aspect of the Townhouse.

As other guests have mentioned, there are also some lovely touches, such as the hot chocolate with liqueur and chocolates from No6 as a parting gift on our last evening. The location is also spot on, being a 5 minute walk to the harbour area and the complimentary onsite parking is a real bonus as it is a nightmare parking in the town.

Somewhat surprised that The Padstow Townhouse appears to be only rated as number 12 on TA ?; being well travelled and having stayed in many good quality hotels and guesthouses, I would place this as one of the best for quality and attention to detail and it should surely be up there at the top. Enjoy and we hope to visit again in the future !

P.s being so close to the coast, the sea gulls do tend to leave a lot of unwelcome presents on your car. The one aspect that the management may want to consider is arranging for an extra charge, the option for a car cleaning service on the morning of checkout ( I noted that there is a near by car valeting service in Padstow that perhaps could provide this).

This was our third visit to the Townhouse. Having previously stayed in Popcorn twice we were keen to try another room unfortunately there was no availability on the upper floors so we chose Rhubarb & Custard on the ground floor. The room was well appointed and had a large bathroom with double shower. all the familiar luxuries were there like before, bloom toiletries, good choice of snacks etc to buy. Liked the seating area we used it a lot. Only comments , due to the one window found the room to be a little dark compared to Popcorn, the pillows could have been a little softer and my side of the bed seemed to sink somewhat. Breakfast is now a well stocked hamper which was very good , previously breakfast was at Rojanos. The hamper came with China and cutlery, the contents included granola, smoked salmon with fresh lemon, meats and cheese, pastries etc. All of the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We used the ‘ kitchen ‘ a few times for the obligatory glass of wine , although the white wine kept changing. We like the Townhouse because you can easily walk into Padstow so can forget about your car. We will stay here again on our next visit , but I think you will need to book well ahead , another guest was booking a return for late 2022!

The Townhouse was a great place to stay, very well furnished and decorated is felt like a home from home, from the momoment we arrived.
The room and bathroom had everything we could have needed, and the shared kitchen / pantry was very well stocked. We ate at No6 restaurant as well and overall couldn't have had a nicer few days away, thanks to the team in both the locations.

Padstow Townhouse is a master class in how to run an hotel.
We always promised ourselves we would go back and as a result of having our holiday in St Lucia cancelled due to Covid 19 it was the easiest decision to book a few nights at the Town House to celebrate our Golden Wedding
The very warm welcome from Shannon set the tone. Nothing was too much trouble. The room, Marshmallow, bright light and perfectly equipped simple and understated decor, extremely comfortable bed, crisp linen. The luxurious bathroom with fluffy towels, quality and exclusive toiletries all add to the feeling that you are being spoilt.
The breakfast hamper was a perfect start to the day full of interesting items, generally locally sourced and very fresh. The boiled duck eggs were a real surprise.
An hotel is however made by its staff and this is where the Town House wins. Michelle and her team are always evident, always smiling, always wanting to help always interested in what you have been doing or plan to do.
Undoubtedly the Covid 19 restrictions had had an impact on some elements of the service the Townhouse offers but we did not notice it.
We dined at Rojano's, the Mariners in Rock, and No6. Without exception cooking, service, hospitality professionalism from a bygone age.
Paul Ainsworth should justifiably be very proud of what he has achieved. We are confident he will say it is about the team, it is, but clearly his desire and enthusiasm drives the standards and sets the example.
Thank you for making our anniversary so special

We went for a birthday celebration and The Townhouse didn't disappoint ... From the initial greeting to our freshly baked welcome mini lamb pastie. Our room was very luxurious, with a lounge with a well stocked bar, snacks, fruit and refreshment area and the bedroom itself was equally luxurious with a sumptuous copper bath in the ensuite. There is an honesty kitchen downstairs to raid at any time of the day/night too. When we arrived back from dinner we found a tray with flask of hot chocolate and a brownie each. The staff are very attentive but not overt and when we left we were given a goodie bag to take away ... It's a genuine boutique hotel which delivers on all points. You won't be disappointed.

The pros pretty much an echo of what people have already written.
Amazing location, beautifully appointed suites with unique decor and very friendly and helpful staff on site. We stayed in the Honeycombe suite is on the top floor and was simply stunning!!
A couple of things that just didn’t work for us:
The parking at the back of the property is tiny and at full capacity (which it was during our stay) you’d be boxed in within minutes with no access to your car. They keys are left with reception so a complex and time consuming manoeuvring of cars needs to be done in order to access your vehicle.
With the staff only being on site from 08:00-18:00, you literally can’t get your vehicle released from parking prison outside these hours. We always try to leave for our daily outings between 07:00 - 08:00 to escape the crowds and heat. One morning we waited 20 mins for hamper delivery (see below) to be done before our car could get released.

Also, breakfast is served in a hamper which is a lovely concept, but the earliest it could be delivered was 08:30am. Again, if you’re plan is to get out and about early in the day, you missed out on the breakfast you’ve paid for.
Overall we had a lovely stay and the Townhouse is very unique and quirky, it just didn’t work for our routine.

We have just had a truely amazing stay at the Town House - Marshmallow suite. The rooms as our photos reflect were impeccable, they are homely, stylish and full of luxury. From a roll top bath to the capacity to play your music in all rooms. To top-end facilities there was absolutely nothing missing .
As well as the room , there were treats that just kept coming. The toiletries were Bloom and so refreshing, we were welcomed with a chocolate desert prepared at No 6 , there was a wealth of drinks options and in a kitchen area down stairs a huge selection of wines, gins etc.
We returned from our meal to find a hot chocolate (with a little extra) left for us.
The breakfast hamper was just beautiful.
Above all though the staff team were amazing. They welcomed us like you would friends/ family.
We couldn’t recommend this place more - our only disappointment is we have tried to book already for next year and can’t get in…. We are not surprised , you would want to move in !
Many thanks to the team !

Having always sought to find an English version Of Edinburgh’s Witchery, I was delighted to finally find the holy grail !
The Townhouse is the ultimate in luxury and indulgence, yet you feel at home and at ease in the meantime - this is not an easy vibe to achieve but the team ( family ) at Ainsworth do it effortlessly.
Warm, beautifully scented, inviting from the moment you are met by a fairy to the moment you are shown on your way. Every last detail is thought of and provided and you feel truly special throughout your stay.
There is so many lovely things I could write but I don’t want to spoil any surprises, so all I will say is that we had booked 2 nights, we stayed 3 and will never again look for another place to stay in Cornwall again! From now on it’s city break at Witchery in Edinburgh and country/seaside in Padstow Townhouse! When you have have had the best, you don’t go back .
See you again and thank you .

What a truly fantastic place. Thank you to Michelle and her team for making our 3 night stay really special. The attention to detail is second to none and for going the extra mile to look after us. Our room (Honeycomb) was a delight not to mention the luxury of it's fabulous bathroom. The location in the older part of the town was super and very quiet and peaceful but within a stones throw from everything Padstow has to offer. This place is truly a little gem and can't wait to return to it's 5 star luxury soon.
