A former rectory, this eight bedroom boutique hotel and restaurant, nestling on the sunny side of the river Erme valley, now provides a luxurious blend of rural hospitality and stylish sophistication with a strong emphasis on food. Log fires in the winter, breakfast on the terrace in the summer, yummy new bathrooms. Innovative, classical cooking from the highly experienced chef/patron. Fabulous beaches, Dartmoor, Plymouth, Totnes, Dartmouth, Eden project all close at hand.

We spent one night here while touring Dartmoor on bicycles. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and extremely comfortable. Little extras like home made cake in your room differentiate this from the norm. The restaurant food and service is superb - all with great attention to detail. Would certainly recommend this establishment.

We spent 2 nights here in a hidden corner of Devon which was away from the tourist towns on the coast. Our room was lovely and airy in the hot weather, no trouble sleeping. Dinner excellent service also. Breakfast also very good and plenty of choice and lovely staff. A good location for visiting nearby area, only downside is the road is closer than you think and a bit noisy but didn’t spoil our stay.

After a delay due to COVID-19 my wife and I at last got to spend our wedding anniversary at this lovely hotel. The welcome from Richard was very warm, the room was lovely, well appointed and quiet, and the food in the restaurant was simply exquisite. Service was excellent throughout, and a shout-out to dark haired girl with the fringe; you are a natural at providing relaxed, humorous and attentive service. We had a lovely time and recommend this hotel and restaurant very much indeed.

What an absolutely fabulous restaurant we ate at with some dear friends who live locally to this small hotel and restaurant in Ermington, between Plymouth & Kingsbridge. A 3 course set menu with 3-4 choices of starters, main course and sweets, freshly prepared by the owner/Chef based on all local ingredients some of them home grown, some from ‘foraging’, with everything - and I mean everything - made & prepared by the Chef. The attention to detail and service was exceptional, my Wife said that it was the best 3 courses she’d had for a long time and all set in a very personal and comfortable lounge & dining room. It was so lovely and comfortable and very welcoming and relaxing......This one is going ‘too if the list’ for us now....

Well where to start? Accomodation is lovely with rooms tastefully furnished and comfortable beds. Nice quiet location. Immaculately clean. Richard is welcoming and pleasant but respectful of your privacy at all times. Never do you feel you are too much trouble. We stayed for two nights (this is our second visit) and I sorely regret not eating here exclusively. Richard's cooking is exceptional. My wife is a vegetarian and I have my own dietary peculiarities but we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. A delightful waitress served us well. Graham in the dining room is a real asset. What a nice man, quietly going about his business but happy to chat about the surrounding area. Breakfast is also a winner with attention to detail and quality fresh produce throughout. I can't recommend the plantation house enough, so book in and enjoy.
