Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Lambscombe Farm Cottages for an extended family holiday in August. We stayed in Hazel Barn which had everything needed for a large group and received a lovely welcome basket for our arrival .... the local Ciders went down a treat! We took the opportunity to visit lots of nearby destinations including Barnstaple, Combe Martin, Saunton Sands and Lynton & Lynmouth - all within about a 45 minute drive as well as taking advantage of some lovely local walks. We also had a great afternoon Clay Pigeon Shooting upon the recommendation of the owners with Roy Peacock Freelance Shotgun Coach - this was a great experience which all the family could take part in - even our youngest (9yrs). We had a great week at Lambscombe Cottages - the owners were really friendly, especially Karen :) and the cottages, grounds and hot-tubs are all well maintained and clean. Would 100% recommend!

We stayed at Lanscombe Farm Cottages in the Apple Barn for a week with a family of 6 adults and toddler and a baby. The cottage was very large so we didn't feel on top of each other. The downstairs space had a large big lounge area with TV and three double sofas which led to a well equipped kitchen and a huge dining table, big enough for all the us (and more). There were 3 double bedrooms (with en-suite) and and two single bedroom. A washing machine and two fridges. Outside there was a large fenced in grassed area, a big picnic table, BBQ and Hot Tub. on site there is a games room with table tennis, pool table and table football, this was gree to all guests and open all the time we were there.

We had a family holiday in Apple Barn and could not fault it. For us the bedroom configuration was excellent, (8 adults, 2 kids) all spacious, plenty of wardrobe/draw space and comfy beds. We were lucky enough to have great weather so spent a lot of our time in the garden, relaxing and listening to the sheep! And of course the hot tub which we used daily. Paul could not do any more to help us feel welcome and was brilliant checking we were all ok throughout the stay. We were a family with two small children and there were cots, stair gates and High chair, very helpful! Anyone else who stays here who is a runner, we went running most mornings but the local hills are big, but we certainly got stronger! Thank you again for a super relaxing stay, we all loved it and would highly recommend!

we have just returned after spending a week with the family and just like to say what a fantastic time we had staying at The Applebarn Cottage. We made a couple of calls to the owners before we went on holiday to confirm a couple of things and they were very helpful and friendly and when we arrived they were there to great us and made us feel very welcome. The actual barn was very spacious even with three young children. The living/dining area was open plan and very social for us all. Bedrooms were very comfortable and Kitchen well stocked. The added feature being the hottub that was used everyday and enjoyed very much. The scenery was beautiful and the weather was fab. Would so recommend this property and would probably return again.

Stayed at Apple Barn, the whole place is amazing & beautiful . Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nice little touches, especially the lemon drizzle cake. The setting is so peaceful with stunning views, especially from the hot tub. Great games room, plenty of parking. Paul was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Even the weather was on our side. Loved every minute and just want to return. Thank you for making my 50th so memorable 😊

You can not fault Apple Barn. It seems that its owners Cathy and Paul have noted down all those niggly little things that we’ve all experienced before in self-catering cotttages and made sure that there Cottage has none of those! We stayed at Apple Barn for the eatserbweek for joint 40th birthday celebrations - 6 adults and 4 kids. As well as a welcoming pack of some essentials and lots of cake we were surprised to find a birthday card and bottle of Prosecco which was a nice touch. We loved the beautiful open plan kitchen equipped with EVERYTHiNG you need for your stay, well- thought out bedrooms not too far apart so the little kids can be near to mum and dad, a great living room space where everyone can gather and the hot tub and views. For the whole week we felt as though we were the only ones staying.

We booked a 2 night weekend stay in November for 10 people in Apple Barn. The cottage was set in beautiful countryside, well appointed, very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners were very welcoming, but unobtrusive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return in the near future.

We stayed in Oak cottage, 2 doubles and 1 twin room. Very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The twin room is up a steep staircase, so not suitable for young children or anyone with mobility issues. The bedroom on the ground floor has an en-suite with bath, the lower-ground bedroom has an en-suite with shower. On arrival we were greeted with a tin of home made cakes (a very nice touch), and a warm welcome. We had a couple of minor problems during our stay but these were attended to promptly and with the minimum of fuss. The games room was a welcome bonus; we enjoyed the air hockey, pool, table football and table tennis. The cottage is located in a very quiet area with views of the surrounding hills. Be aware that the lanes around the cottages are very narrow with occasional passing places, so not suitable for nervous drivers! WiFi is currently patchy (not surprising in this area) but the owners are trying to get it upgraded All in all an enjoyable holiday, in a comfortable cottage with excellent hosts.
