Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely stay. Linen and towels excellent quality. Breakfast was amazing and so much choice. Rowena and Graham were very friendly. Even cake left out in the lounge to have with a cup of tea and a small bar available. Peter and Sally.

Great hosts - nothing is too much trouble. A good breakfast with plenty of options and locally sourced foods. Most importantly a very very comfortable bed. Fridges in the rooms is a thoughtful touch that proved really useful in the recent heatwave. Definitely one of the best B&Bs we've stayed at and will be back if ever in this neck of the woods again.

We’ll be going back! Working on a scientific project nearby and fancied something more traditional than the premier inn Very friendly on booking; again on arrival with tea and coffee instantly offered and accepted. The rooms are large and very comfy. Beds exceptional. Linen and towels all absolutely immaculate. I can honestly say i’ve never stayed in a cleaner hotel. An absolute credit to the housekeepers and owner. A nice touch is the mini fridge with water and mini eggs( I forgot to scoff them:() Breakfast is five star with a perfect range of options. Far superior in all regards than four or five star hotels i’ve stayed in. The Hosts is are very friendly Really looking forward to staying again in the very near future.

From the minute we walked through the door we felt at home. Greeted by the lovely Rowena with a hot pot of coffee and tea and welcomed into the beautiful sitting room. Our room was spotless and comfortable with gorgeous towels and bedding. I could not recommend staying here enough. If there is a score out of 100 I give it 200!

I stayed here with a couple of friends on a cycling trip and everything about it was spot on. The shared rooms and the bedroom were comfortable and homey. We were given tea and cake on arrival and Graham and Rowena could not have been more helpful. There was also a good breakfast menu and my eggs + salmon were excellent.

Our 2nd stay at Barnabas House. And it's still amazing. Lovely comfortable room, the most amazing breakfast- I opted for Smashed Avocado on sourdough toast and griddled halloumi - all I can say is Yum!! Lots of choice and ok to mix and match. Lovely area, a short walk from the moors and a good selection of shops and a good pub just a 2 min walk away. Graham and Rowena are fabulous hosts and can't do enough to help. Really lovely stay, we will be back.

A warm welcome and a well appointed bedroom. The attention to detail is 5 star plus and the owners Graham and Rowena did everything possible to make our stay very special. We left after a home-cooked tasty breakfast full of compliments for this very special place!

It was lovely to be met on arrival by Graham and to be served tea and delicious cake made by Rowena. The house is beautiful, ideally situated for the seaside and the moors. The spacious room and all the luxury accessories are delightful. The freshly cooked and varied breakfasts are very tasty and include home made bread and marmalade as well as delicious local produce. Thoroughly recommend this 5* B&B.

From the welcome at the door, to the fresh milk and chocolates in your room, the spotless, tasteful rooms and luxurious bedding, the home made jams and local sausages at breakfast. I could go on but you really need to check this place out for yourself. Normally we prefer to try somewhere new when going away but this is definitely a place to return to.

We stayed at Barnabas House in November and all I can say is wow. From the most warmest of welcomes, 5 star freshly cooked breakfast to the most beautiful individual rooms with luxurious bedding and high quality toiletries. We viewed all the rooms and want to stay in all of them! Absolutely beautiful. A gem and well worth a visit.
