Enjoyed a fantastic stay over the August bank holiday at Hook Farm. Jacky, John, Bill & Mary are doing an excellent job keeping everywhere looking and feeling clean so that customers feel safe during the current covid19 pandemic.
The staff greet you outside for check-in. The well stocked shop is open until 7pm (don't forget your mask).
The pitches are spacious and well tended. There are 2 toilet blocks on the site. In my block there are 3 showers (20p for 4min) and 8 toilets in the ladies with 4 basins. When the staff are conducting a deep clean you can either use the other toilet block at the opposite end of the site of the portaloo which they have hired this season.
There are 5 covered washing up stations in my toilet block
Social distancing hasn't been an issue on this site.
10 minute drive or 1.5mile walk along the river into Lyme Regis and around 15 minutes to Charmouth
If you enjoy Pizza and you are staying on a Saturday then it is worth considering ordering a wood fired pizza from the van they come about 6pm.

The staff at this campsite were incredibly friendly and welcoming and were always willing to help and offered support in every way possible. The pitches were in great condition and were well spaced out giving each camper significant privacy. The facilities were very clean and in good condition with lots of hot water, good powerful showers and easily accessible at day and at night time. The on site shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. The location is great with easy access to Lyme Regis either by driving or walking as well as being reasonably close to many other local seaside villages.

We were looking for a week away from London, this was the perfect place to relax. There is plenty of things to keep the children entertained in Lyme Regis, from fossil hunting to mackerel fishing to going on the Seaton Tramway. The shop is usually manned which is really helpful when you need advise on places to eat out. My kids especially loved the walk down to Lyme Regis which was only 30 minutes, we usually got the bus back to the campsite. The facilities were spotless throughout our stay, we saw staff going in and checking them regularly. Overall this is a lovely site with very helpful staff who were always near by if you needed anything.

We've just spent two nights at Hook Farm, and it was one of the best sites we have stayed at for a long time.
Really friendly staff, and offered lots of knowledge, advice and help. Even though the site was full, it didn't feel crowded. The site is really well maintained, and all the pitches are as level as they could be, even though it is a really hilly area.
Good well stocked shop/reception on site. Toilet/shower blocks were never busy, and were nice and clean (and the showers were nice and hot and powerful, so worth the 20p for 4 mins). Large clean washing up areas were good, and also a freezer available for ice blocks.
Pop-up food stalls available for some nights (we had really delicious Pizza from Ethic Street Pizza).
We found the site nice and quiet, and by 10pm there was virtually no noise.
We were fully briefed on the Covid-19 measures that had been put in place, when we checked-in, and the staff had done a good job of making all the public areas as safe as possible with markings and signs.
Only a short walk along a the river to Lyme Regis.
We'll definitely be back.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed a 4 night stay here. Will definitely return. Billy (site warden) does a great job making sure campers feel safe and maintaining the grounds. Site is well organised and clean. Hilly landscape gives great privacy for pitches. Some great walks, including a walk along the river to Lyme Regis, and a lovely pub near the camp site too.

We camped here last Year and we can’t believe how bad this site has got . When arriving you have a military like reception telling all about the hundreds of rules that the site has even though you would already read them all in the email. Once you are checked in we were shown to our pitch where I had requested to be close to the toilets etc because my wife is disabled, well were up a hill and the walk to the toilet was very difficult for my wife. When we arrived at the pitch the Guy was very pleased to tell us about the beautiful views we had from the pitch, well if the hedges were actually trimmed and looked after then maybe we could have enjoyed the view! The grass and hedges on the entire site were untidy and not looked after. I looked at the ground on the pitch and asked the Guy if this was where we had to put the tent, he said ‘ yes it’s very stoney and there isn’t much grass as we have been very busy’ , that was an understatement the grass was mud and the stones were like laying on the pebble beach at Lyme Regis.
When we started to put the tent up I stood on a massive ants nest so we went to reception to inform them of this. When we told them they looked at my Wife as if she was an alien with two heads, my wife repeated the problem and he eventually put some ant powder down.
The Male toilet block is next, the shower had cling film wrapped around the pipe leading to the shower head to prevent it leaking or falling off and the floors were disgusting it really never looked as if they had been cleaned for a while. Two urinals had blue buckets beneath them to catch the leaking urine from the obviously broken urinals.
No separate cubicles for washing teeth or faces so you had to use the same taps people were using to wash there hands after using the toilet. We visited the shop and found the lady very abrupt and rude making us feel like a hindrance not a customer. We were never once made to feel welcome just another pound sign to them. it’s very obvious they do not care about the site or the customers only there profit. We have already looked for alternative sites for next-year as we would never return here again which is such a shame as we had such fond memories of our previous visit.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry you did not enjoy your visit on this occasion.I reserved you the closest tent pitch to the facilities which we have on the park due to your request. Unfortunately as you may remember on your last visit the campsite is located on the site of a valley with level pitches but the access roads are not level on the park. The team have worked extremely hard this season with most of our reviews now coming via our CampStead booking platform. We are really pleased to say we have achieved 4.5 / 5 overall rating based on 367 Reviews in last 12 months. Our facilities are checked every hour and this year we have professional cleaners in daily carrying out an additional clean. We would welcome any feedback during a guests stay if there are an issues.

We were treated by lovely, friendly staff who consistently made the effort to talk with you throughout your stay. They provided us with a map to Lyme Regis along the River Lyme and showed us to our pitch where they told us about the facilities. Really could not fault the staff at all!
The facilities were always clean and tidy. The showers are 20p for 4 minutes; this was adequate for having a shower and the water was consistently hot! The inside sink facilities were great too and the use of a freezer to refreeze freezer blocks.
They are very environmentally conscious and provide plenty of bins for recycling.
The shop is stocked with breads, pastries, meat and toiletries (including suncream for those who underestimate the need for a higher factor suncream)
I highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be returning!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! All the staff were friendly and efficient (Bill and Mary, two of the site wardens, even went out of their way to help us when we had some car trouble on the last night!). We visited only days after the Covid-19 restrictions had been lifted and were pleased to find that the pitches were well spaced out, certainly no concerns of being on top of each other, and the facilities were spotless with sensible markings/signage in place. The staff were seen regularly sanitising anything that didn't move! Aside from the impressive organisational set up for Covid-19, the site itself was lovely, with pleasant views to surrounding trees and towards Uplyme itself. The facilities were spotless and we never had to queue! This was a great base from which to explore the East Devon and West Dorset coast, highly recommended!

Ok let me just say that this site is a very nice site to camp on. This was my second stay here of the year and some what different from the time we stayed in May 2021. I've just returned from a camping trip with the same friends/family we went with the first time back in May. I would just like to say I do respect sites policies but was unaware of how strict these rules were until now. The site as a no noise policy after 10.30pm and no music to be played on site along with other rules. Now I dont mind these rules but one evening we barely made a single loud noise and we were pull for loud noise we did have music on very low but was told to turn it off which we complied with. After we had been told not to make noise and no music I found that tents at the back of the site had music on I walso recall from my last visit there was music being played. Anyway we made a decision to go offsite for drinks and music were we would not be told its too loud. Also bare in mind the site also as a no riding bike policy but yet there were people riding bikes on site???
Anyway this is not a bad review as we absolutely loved our time here the site is clean and very nice unfortunately due to the rain they had there the ground was very boggy and they should have warned us a little earlier about this not on the day we were travelling down to the site from London.
But again this is not a bad review.
It's just the rules were alittle more tight this visit. But I would like to say thank you to the staff they are very friendly 😊 and most polite 😉 and were just doing there jobs.
If you are looking for a nice and quiet not music or party free site this is the one 👌 facilties very clean and pitches in beautiful location and it's a lovely walk from site down to lyme regis well worth doing. But leave your speakers at home.

To answer my own question ….the site in my option is very secure.
Yes you can get a bus down into the town from Lyme Road.
The site is a approx. 1/4 mile from the B road, with plenty of passing places. We also have static caravans on our site which arrive by road and lots of visitors in Motorhomes.
As before- NO.
BBQs OK if on bricks to protect the grass. Bricks provided.
Definitely not bike friendly, but it's a gorgeous walk. Mixture of up and downhill each way but it's very gentle inclines- I'm not in the best shape and it's easy for me.
