Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel is in an old fashioned building overlooking the part of the river where the local fishing fleet looks to be based. There is a smallish car park but plenty of on street parking available near to the hotel The room was bijou but they had made good use of the available, limited space. There was a fridge, kettle, hair dryer and fan provided. The room was clean. I had dinner in the restaurant at night which was excellent. The included self-service, continental breakfast was also very good with a wide selection of food available. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive A billboard advertised a nightly karaoke. If it took place on the night I was there I certainly did not notice it from my bedroom. There are excellent traditional fishmongers and butchers within a short, walking distance and an Antiques Emporium nearby. I thought this was excellent value for money and will be at the top of my list for my next stay in Boston

Very impressed with the hotel and bar. Our room was spotless and very comfy. The staff friendly and welcoming. We finished our stay with a first class continental breakfast. We will definitely stay here again next time in Boston.

Exceptional welcome allowing my partner to book in early following a night shift at the hospital, a real bonus that the hotel offered her. When I arrived later in the day I also received an excellent welcome and my confidence was further heightened when they would not give me my partner’s bedroom number. Great professionalism in maintaining the security of their guests. Food was awesome. Great menu to cater for all tastes. Never got to sweet menu as too full. Rooms are immaculate and extremely clean. Can see why they have won awards. Will definitely stay again if in the area

Spent a weekend in Boston with 2 friends. Stayed in a triple room at the Quayside. Comfortable, clean, amazing staff and superb location. Boston is a typical UK market town with fascinating history. Highly recommend.

Looks like a nice place from the outside but pretty average to be honest. Didn’t feel very welcome when checking in following some confusion over my booking which was only resolved after speaking to the manageress on the phone. 1st room (modem) they allocated me on the ground floor stunk terribly of sewage (no real apology and their only concern seemed to be whether I’d laid on the bed or not…) so was moved to an older very dated pretty grubby upstairs attic room which only had 1 small window and a converted broom cupboard of a bathroom. Breakfast only served from 8am and the cooked breakfast was an extra charge which I only tried once (disappointing breakfast - sausages were strange, bacon minuscule and luke warm, mushrooms iver flavoured (garlic…possibly..?), the single Fried egg was the best thing about it). When attempting to check out early on the Sunday afternoon I discovered that the place was completely closed up with nobody on site so had to check out with the 24hr on-call number which is weird for somewhere that bills itself as a “Hotel”. Not really a hotel but a Pub with rooms. Couldn’t get a space in the very tight hotel car park so parked on street. Staff were friendly enough.

Myself and 7 other friends stayed in the Quayside on Saturday 16th September. We all loved the hotel! The bar is very welcoming, bright and modern. The restaurant looked lovely and although we didn’t eat there the food we saw being served looked amazing (will definitely try food another time). The rooms were gorgeous! Bed comfortable, modern furniture and decor and the bathroom absolutely beautiful!!! The continental breakfast in the morning was just what we needed and so much choice. Will definitely stay there again. Thank you Steve (fisherman) Bagley for booking us in.

We arrived early in the afternoon and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who was under tuition by the owner, Alistair. Alistair then took over and we had a very interesting and informative discussion about the hotel, its history and the town of Boston. He personally showed us to our room and assisted me with bringing our luggage from the car. Contrary to some previous reports we found the decor and cleanliness to be immaculate throughout all the areas of the hotel we visited. As a yardstick to set the standard for any overnight accommodation, we always inspect the bathroom. In this case we were very impressed by its cleanliness and the high standard of fittings. In addition to the usual provision of tea/coffee facilities in the room, we were invited to use the high quality coffee dispenser in the breakfast room at any time, which was very welcome. On the downside (and I am sure you could even criticise the Ritz or Savoy!), we had some trouble operating the television with the remote control and, with the ambiance lighting on in the room, a ventilation fan is intermittently activated, which is a bit noisy. I note that some previous reviews have been critical of the staff and facility restrictions (no direct reception after 10pm and no restaurant on Sunday), but we found that these limitations were made very clear in our pre visit communication. All in all, we found the accommodation to be excellent value and one of the best mid range hotels we have stayed in for a long while.

Booked a room via work and first sights of the hotel and pub looked nice, that was until I entered my room. The toilet was in a small cupboard, there was dirty on the blinds, radiator and the shower door was filthy. The stairs to the first floor looked like they had never seen a hoover. The continental Breakfast looked nice however there seemed to be a few residential flies near the food. Made a cup of tea and a fly came from inside the machine and landed in my cup. When the member of staff opened the machine up another fly came out and hit her in the face.

The hotel was nice and the food lovely on the evening and at breakfast on the Saturday but although we booked in for the weekend the bar and rest of the hotel was closed on the Sunday for the evening meal and drinks! this was so disappointing as there was nowhere else nearby to go for a meal and drink. Free carpark at the hotel and the staff were nice. I wouldn't recommend going into Boston itself as it is full of shady looking characters, run down and scary. Unimpressed from Doncaster!
