On arrival our room had been given to another guest, the staff member asked the guest to leave she had been given wrong room but she had used the toilet an left it very dirty an smelly so when we arrived in the room the smell was awful! My partner cleaned the toilet as the young girl on reception was also managing the bar the room should of been checked properly before we were given the key. The bed is a very small double the room was very hot window wouldn’t open fully an no fan or air con in the room, you’d think with the money theyv spent on the big tv money would of been spent better on a fan/air con and a bigger sink in the bathroom it’s tiny . The shower tray is very slippery there’s no shower mat or handle to hold on to ! We weren’t aware it was continental breakfast until a guy mentioned it in the bar should be advertised as that on booking.com it just says breakfast included. The help yaself breakfast is in a small area wasn’t to busy when we went but wouldn’t like to go if was busy! Cereal toast fruit coffee tea cold pastries .

We stayed at the quayside as a couple for my birthday.

We found a spot in the good side car park although there is ample parking on the road outside.

First impressions of the hotel were really good just a lovely looking building.

The only reason the hotel isn’t getting a 5 star review is the location (I’m aware this isn’t something the owners can control) Boston isn’t somewhere I would visit again on purpose, unless passing through to go somewhere else and if I did have to spend a night or 2 there I would 100% choose the quayside.

The main entrance leads into a bar, don’t think this is reception like we did lol, we stood outside waiting our turn for about 5 minutes until I noticed the people inside the door were drinking.

Reception is actually round the back of the bar. So go in main entrance and walk left around the bar and then reception is just past the first couple of restaurant tables on the right. This should have better signage really.

Luckily for us on entering we were greeted by 1 of many happy smiley polite staff we encountered on our stay, who showed us round to reception.

Our room wasn’t massive but it was really nice and decorated really well with a massive tv which was nice.
Our shower door came off the runners when closed completely so just be careful shutting it .

The bar area in the hotel is nice and drinks a really well priced and they have a massive selection which we loved ,as I’m a spiced rum drinker you only normally get Morgan’s and that’s it. Where as here I didn’t even finish trying all the different ones, it was the same for gins & whiskey’s.

We booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal, which turned out to be a really good decision as I can’t imagine town being that inviting in the evening.

The menu was a little weird with a big Asian influence in the starters which we really liked but no Asian influence in the main at all apart from a teriyaki salad.

Because we loved the sound of a few of the starters we got 3 and weren’t disappointed with our crispy chilli beef, our bacon wrapped halloumi fries which were my fav and the our gyozas.

For mains we had chicken parmigiana which was really good my partner who had salmon with mash(they had no new potato’s) which she enjoyed.

The only thing which was a little bit disappointing was my dessert which on the menu was a misspelled Eton mess spelled Eaton. I’m not sure if it is deliberate so it didn’t have to be a typical eton mess.
What I had was just ice cream with a couple of strawberries with a whole (packet) meringue plopped on top.

Finishing on a positive which is what the quayside deserves. The continental breakfast was really good and that’s coming from a big English breakfast fan, which I didn’t need to order after having the continental breakfast, great choices to be had.

Really nice little hotel thank you quayside staff for a very pleasant stay

Had an excellent stay. Everything was superb and couldn’t fault anything. My only minor niggles would be room was far too hot, turned radiators off but their were plug in fans to use. Bottled water too in the room would be a nice touch.Breakfast was a bit crowded when everyone gathered in that area. Small milk jugs would be better placed on individual tables so people don’t have to wait to fill cereal bowl/coffee/tea etc. A small push button drinks machine would be beneficial to get lattes etc. Again these are only small things. Would stay again if I was in area.

We picked this hotel because of the good reviews from other travellers but now at a loss to understand that they were talking about the same hotel. First impressions count and the first impression of this hotel is that the carpet in the public areas is filthy dirty and absolutely disgusting. The room was ok but could have been cleaner indeed on one day our used towels were still on the bathroom floor at 5 pm. Not good under normal circumstances and totally unacceptable during these current Covid-19 times. On the subject of Covid-19 hygiene practises were poor. A buffet continental breakfast was laid out in the filthy reception area despite government guidelines for table service only. Breakfast experience not enhanced by the service from a sulky teenager. All in all not an experience we wish to repeat, definitely not good value for money. If you really need a hotel in Boston, suggest you look elsewhere. We in fact felt so strongly about the disgusting carpet and breakfast that we have reported it to the local food hygiene department.

1st impressions upon entering the hotel were good, unfortunately not very impressed with our room, number 18 very small and claustrophobic, 1st thing we did was switch the radiator off the heat was unbelievable...
The shower room was a reasonable size but smelt of drains and the toilet needed a proper deep clean, stained and the seat fittings were disgusting.
The room overlooked the car park so we were disturbed in the early hours and again very early in the morning so not a very good nights sleep.
Continental breakfast was more than adequate, the choice of a cooked breakfast was available for an additional payment.
Would we stay here again or recommend it? Sorry that’s got to be a NO

Maybe it was about COVID, maybe not but it was not a good stay there. No one was there on our arrival at 3.30 pm. We had access to the room by opening a key safe outside after making a call to a mobile number on the door. We were surprised how tiny and hot our room was (no 17) and eventually, once a member of staff arrived on site we asked to be moved, as the heat was unbearable.
We moved to room 20 across the very narrow hall. It was larger but equally stuffy, We spent two nights there but left on early to go and stay with some friends for the last night as it was unbearable and we were not sleeping well at all.
Also on the day we arrived, we asked about food. This was on a FRIDAY night and the restaurant was open but a nasty odor of stale cooking fat pervaded the area, The menu was handwritten and only showed fried foods.
I asked for a salad and was told they had none, the explanation was that they did not really open until the following week, but had been opened for 'key workers' only, and 'anyone else who turned up'. Saturday evening the front of the house was locked and no staff on duty, so Sunday morning we left the hotel early, cutting short our stay.

I have emailed to complain and request a refund for the third night but still await a reply.

I would not recommend this establishment.

We arrived early in the afternoon and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who was under tuition by the owner, Alistair. Alistair then took over and we had a very interesting and informative discussion about the hotel, its history and the town of Boston. He personally showed us to our room and assisted me with bringing our luggage from the car. Contrary to some previous reports we found the decor and cleanliness to be immaculate throughout all the areas of the hotel we visited. As a yardstick to set the standard for any overnight accommodation, we always inspect the bathroom. In this case we were very impressed by its cleanliness and the high standard of fittings. In addition to the usual provision of tea/coffee facilities in the room, we were invited to use the high quality coffee dispenser in the breakfast room at any time, which was very welcome. On the downside (and I am sure you could even criticise the Ritz or Savoy!), we had some trouble operating the television with the remote control and, with the ambiance lighting on in the room, a ventilation fan is intermittently activated, which is a bit noisy. I note that some previous reviews have been critical of the staff and facility restrictions (no direct reception after 10pm and no restaurant on Sunday), but we found that these limitations were made very clear in our pre visit communication. All in all, we found the accommodation to be excellent value and one of the best mid range hotels we have stayed in for a long while.

Arrived at hotel and checked in for 2 nights i was given room 8 which turns out to be a basic single room with a shower in middle of room and no toilet which is down a corridor outside room.Which if i booked this would not be a issue but my company had booked a twin room which are all ensuite my confirmation clearly states twin room and payment was for twin room. I was told i couldnt move and i was in correct room as expedia class this as a twin room ??? last time i looked twin room had 2 beds not 1 .I called hotel head office and was told hotel was full i checked website and it was not full. Also unable to use shower as just above shower is a standard open light fitting which raises health and safety concerns.I decided to stay only 1 night and move elsewhere
i requested a chair for my room so i could do reports on my laptop and was told i couldnt have 1 whilst hotel rooms are clean and tidy a lot leaves to be desired as to attitude of staff and owners who dont care it seems and also i expect to get what i paid for i work for a large company and they will not use this hotel chain any further

I stayed with my 4 year old daughter and the room was small. It was just for 1 night for slepping so it was OK. The room was too hot even on a rainy winters night even after turning off the heater. I had to switch on the fan to sleep.

The bed was really really bad, it felt like it just had springs and nothing else. My daughter complained a lot that the bed was wobbly and she cannot sleep. The room has a big TV and I would recommend to spend half of the TV money to buy a better mattress so one can sleep comfortably.

Bathroom was alright, it had spiders and spider webs.

The free brkfast offered was continental and had a great variety.

Overall I would never stay here again and would not recommend as well just because of mattress, room size and the heat in the room.

Stayed at the Quayside for one night. Hotel very modern and nicely decorated. Very clean and excellent bedding and towels.
Only negative is the “continental breakfast”
Apples oranges bananas, ham and cheese sandwiches wrapped in cling film, boiled eggs, wrapped portions of cheese.. no bread no toast, had to ask for cutlery, no salt pepper on tables, no water, cheep porridge just pour on boiling water ...Only cheep nasty pre packed croissants and breakfast buns no butter.. honest a joke.
Another couple were saying the same.
Book room only.Come on management team you have a great located hotel .. but ur breakfast is the worst I’ve ever had😧

Sorry for the delay in response, We do make guests in rooms 9 and 10 aware that it can get noisy on a Saturday evening but the rest of the rooms are unaffected. Hope this helps.
