Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We needed a base for a few days while house hunting, the Hotel was ideally situated. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the owners and staff were very friendly. The bar was. Well stocked and their signature beer is def worth a try. The hotel is also a wedding and party venue, looking at the facilities available It would appear they can cater for most, and have some Xmas events planned.

Lovely one night stay at this hotel. Clean, comfy, and welcoming staff. Amazing breakfast with good quality ingredients. Easy to find and ample parking. Limited choice for food at night though. Think the hotel is used for lots of weddings and events mainly, but there was nothing on while we were there so it was very quiet.

Booked 2 rooms and came up to Boston for our grandsons birthday. We picked the poachers because of the location but very very pleased that we did. Lovely staff and clean comfy rooms. Pillows were perfect. We did also eat here on the 1st night and the food was OK and reasonably priced.

Stayed at The Poachers' on a family holiday, aged 16, in the long hot summer of 1976. Very happy to have found the bar exactly the same and to have had breakfast (again) at the identical window table. The wedding venue element of today was not remotely relevant or of interest to our stay, but a quiet weekday stay outside of 'Events' is a pleasure with the ethereal Boston Stump visible from the side road just behind The Poachers'. An amazing, old-style country pub which has rave reviews as a wedding function venue. It also has a Wedding Licence so the whole bizzo can happen on site. Lovely staff, cosy room with part-opening windows (some of the chain hotel rooms rely on blown air which gives me closs) We didn't try the food as we wanted to see the area... and a comfy bed. All lovely! The large car park is on the left of the building, so approach slowly as our sat-nav thought it would be fun to take us elsewhere. A lovely part of the country

I was working down at Boston and this place was ideal for what I wanted. Comfortable bed tv shower what more do you need. Van was safe parked in the pub car park really quiet on a night. You do however only have a kettle so you need to find your own food but tescos and McDonalds are about 2.5 miles away

Our wedding was absolutely perfect at the Poachers Country Hotel. We were a little worried as it had just changed hands a few weeks before our wedding. But everything ran so smoothly. Lorna was amazing, she was so attentive and friendly at all times. She made sure everyone and everything was where it needed to be throughout the day. She constantly checked in on us amd made sure we had nothing to worry about the whole time we were there. Dan was also amazing and friendly. He made sure anything we wanted we got immediately. He also kept the drinks flowing and our guests had drinks in hand at all times. Food was beautiful. All of the guests have since commented how much they enjoyed it. I also asked B&R, the catering staff, if my husband could have a cheeky cheese and pickle sandwich with his main course as a surprise (that was all he really wanted) and they has no problem whatsoever in doing this for him- they even used Branston Pickle, his favourite. Waiting staff were all also so friendly and provided service with a smile. The venue itself was set up so beautifully. It certainly had the wow factor. The bar area is really quirky with little nooks for guests to sit and chill out away from everyone if they needed to. Breakfast the next morning was very tasty with a full English brought out very quickly after sitting down with pastries, fruit, cereal, juices and hot drinks to choose from also. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. We had a few extra beds needed in the rooms for some of the children and they were all where they needed to be. I just want to say a huge thankyou to all of the staff that were there on our wedding day for all the hard work and effort put it to make our day so special. It was even better than I had imagined 😊

A great old school country pub with friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Great for all the family. You absolutely have to try The Poachers Rest Pint! We stayed as party of a wedding party and were very happy with the customer service of the friendly young bar staff and they were very good at keeping the place clean and tidy despite it being a very busy wedding.

Attended for my cousins wedding. Had an amazing time. Staff were all fantastic, very attentive. I asked for a cushion for my elderly mum and Lorna bought one immediately. When taking mum to the facilities Jamie asked if we needed any help. This morning at breakfast Lorna wad there replenishing all of the fruit cereals etc. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Wanted everything to be perfect for my cousin and it certainly was. Couldn't fault a thing
