We had a lovely overnight stay at the Priory. A short walk into town, plenty of pubs & eating places. Quirky deco room, comfy bed & large bathroom. Good shower. Building itself a bit tired but very clean. Plenty of tea & coffee. Really friendly, helpful staff. Only negative thing to say is we couldn't turn the radiator off so the room was really hot, we just had to have the big window open. Overall a really nice place.

What a great place. As we pulled in to the car park you could sense that this place was not your usual hotel! We were greeted and shown to our room - which was just as well because it would have been impossible to try and explain the way. The renovation work that must have been done, and is still unobtrusively ongoing, has been completed with a gentle hand. Not overdone but done with loving care. Our room was spacious and warm with everything we needed. and, although the bed had a bit of a lumpy look, it was actually really comfy. We didn't eat here but did have breakfast and it was superb. We loved the ethos and loved the place.

Very comfy twin beds and very clean bathroom. Very quiet mid week stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Got given a tour of the ground floor - georgian gothic, alot of character and original features. Enjoyed cooked breakfast and good very reasonably priced dinners. White wine in bucket of ice on request. 5 min walk from town with good cinema and beautiful church with England's highest spire (?). Grey seals currently nearby with pups for easy viewing a short drive away.

Stayed at the Priory over night last night and had the tasting menu with friends. From start to finish all of the staff were impeccable. Warm and welcoming, efficient, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The tasting menu was amazing and the chef was brilliant- delivering excellent food from the first course to the last. From front of house to behind the scenes we couldn’t have been made go feel more at home. Absolutely love the incentive of the project and the passion of every single member of the team. A relaxing warm friendly environment and you can see that everyone is passionate about what they do as part of the team. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone. We will be back!! Thank you all for a lovely memorable evening with our friends.

I loved my short stay at The priory Hotel. I cannot wait to bring my wife here. Louth is a delightful Lincolnshire country town. Relatively prosperous, it's town centre is adorned with lots of individual, interesting shops and wonderful architecture. The Priory is literally the icing on the cake. Just a short walk from the town centre it is a Georgian architectural gem. Full of fascinating nooks and crannies, unique rooms and furniture. My room was quiet, spacious, comfortable with a large en-suite bathroom. Food was delicious, the staff so helpful and friendly. Thanks again for carrying my case upstairs. And to top it all, there was a Comedy Evening being held in the function room. I am so glad that I attended. Four hilarious stand-up comedians. All for the price of a double whisky. Unbelievable! A unique experience. One definitely NOT to miss. P.S. The gentleman who built this amazing Georgian building as a nautical training school must have had a great sense of humour. It has never been a priory, and it is nowhere near the sea!

Where do we begin? Apologies for the lengthy review , but there is so much to say and all of it positive. After a long drive up from Brighton we were met and greeted by Ben, he welcomed us to The Priory and showed us around the beautiful hotel. Our rooms were charming . We had drinks in the lovely garden and also met Emily who was working in the bar and Daniel, Daniel is a real fun character and a lovely man . Breakfast is taken in a pretty room and the chef, Lowan, came to our table and explained the breakfast menu, which is comprehensive - full English, omelettes, poached eggs, fruit and yoghurt amongst other options - and beautifully prepared . He also discussed with much passion the 7 course taster menu we were going to have in the evening, which was very interesting. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of Louth , which is a pretty and interesting market town. NOW on to the taster menu, which is meant to be seven courses, we in fact had ten courses. We dined in the gorgeous library . Thomas was our wine waiter and he was very knowledgeable about the wine list . We picked a red and a white wine , both were very good. The taster menu was just sensational , perfectly cooked interestingly constructed dishes , just the right portion size, focusing on locally sourced fresh produce. Stunning. Lowan came to our table and explained in detail what each course was as they were served. The care and presentation of each dish was extraordinary. He clearly loves cooking and has lots of interesting ideas. We actually saw Lowan in Louth on the morning of our meal shopping for fresh produce incidentally, literally from the market to the table. Lowan was ably assisted by Richard in the kitchen .This evening and the dinner is one that all four of us will remember for a very long time. A special mention to Ben who brings the whole team together in a calm, efficient and friendly way . Any questions we had, he was on hand to answer them . The Priory is much more than a hotel, it also provides opportunities for local people and they run a community kitchen from the hotel which provides meals to vulnerable local people. There is also an area outside where local people can donate fresh produce and also take food. Despite the fact we live at the other end of the country, we will be back at the Priory as soon as we can and look forward to meeting Ben and the team again. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. Our only regret is that we did not meet Paul Hugill, but we hope to next time.

We are extremely grateful that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Priory Hotel. From what you are saying on here I have no doubt that you certainly enjoyed every interaction you had with our team. We're very happy that you enjoyed the Library room as much as you did. Emily set it up especially for you. Thomas will be chuffed that you enjoyed the wines he had to offer and he certainly is highly knowledgeable when it comes to choosing a great wine or two. Lowan will be delighted that you enjoyed his food so much. He prides himself on turning out the best poached eggs he can at breakfast. He is also super passionate about the taster menu. Richard will be happy too, as he is very keen to help out in both the Kitchen and with the waitering. Also it was a pleasure making you welcome and I very much look forward to welcoming you back here again. A pleasure. Benjamin Smith The Priory Hotel

2 night stay as we were attending BSB bike event. A member of staff came out to the car and carried our bags in. Easy check in and we were shown to our room Ben even carried out bags. Small bar downstairs which we used one night before going out for dinner. Breakfast was very good best poached eggs I've had and I was even told how they were cooked so well. We were offered drinks while we chose breakfast from the menu. Our room overlooked the car park (room 6) large room. Towel art on the bed and a hot water bottle tea and coffee provided Check out was good cheery goodbye from staff and door opened to help us out.

We stayed at The Priory last night and the experience was amazing from the moment we arrived. We were greeted at the door and checked in. Whilst our bags were being taken to the room we were given a guided tour with a very detailed history by Ben. We were in the Serendipity room which was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. Breakfast this morning was delicious. I cannot stress this enough but the staff were absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they all went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks Paul and team!
