Approaching The Fauconberg in the evening is beautiful as the lights are all twinkling and the building seems to invite you in. Five of us and a dog entered to a relaxed and friendly welcome. The bar is full of character with interesting seating, a cheery fireplace and a genuine country pub vibe. Had a hilarious and unrushed chat with the lady who took our food order. She set the tone for an evening that felt like we were regular customers when in fact it was our first time eating at The Fauconberg. The food was varied and delicious with generous portions. Nothing was left on our plates. The dog too wasn't forgotten and she got a treat and a bit of fuss. Upon leaving we had a lovely chat with the man behind the bar who hoped we would return - we definitely hope we get the opportunity!

Been looking forward to going here. Went to our seats and sat down ordered drinks and food. water came with lemon in it we asked for a new bottle of water. The waitress rolled her eyes. Then before she fetched it over, she stroked a dog and let it lick her hands then picked up our glasses you couldn’t write it. Steak and ale pie came. Looks like they dropped it first I got the fish and chips a small little pot of mushy peas on the side a bit of a joke. One month full and they were gone. Fish and chips was nice just badly presented. Gutted really but won’t be going back staff was miserable food was average at best

Oh dear - can’t get it right all of the time 😳 the pie stuck in the tin and broke so shouldn’t have been served - chefs have been told; that is usually an acceptable amount of peas, so if you’d wanted more we would have happily given you some more, Eye rolling staff - 🤷‍♀️ and stroking dogs 🤦‍♀️ I’ll have to take you’re word on those as I wasn’t there. If you look at our previous reviews we usually get it right, so apologies for not doing so this time

We had a nice weekend at Fauconberg .Nice food , cosy fires , comfy room Staff were friendly , however we found Annellies not as friendly and approachable as other staff at times ? We asked about information on certain things and received frosty responses? We can’t deny everybody works very hard but Hospitality is Hospitality at the end of the day .

Just home from a wonderful weekend at this superb hotel. The rooms where spotless and bathroom is modern and spacious. The food was great especially the breakfast, quality ingredients and very well cooked I would go as far as saying it was the best breakfast I have ever tasted. The owner and staff are wonderful, chatty and a credit to the place. Thank you all and we will definitely be coming back soon.

Another return visit to the Fauconberg . Such a beautiful warm pub in such an outstanding area of beauty . The staff are so welcoming and friendly and it was lovely to see them again and some of the locals . We stayed in the Rosedale room again it’s such a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed . We really enjoyed our meals in the bar the Chinon wine off the wine list was delicious , highly recommend that and the prawn cocktail was the best ever . It’s obviously a well loved place in the area as it was always busy especially tea time just a fantastic atmosphere and a very nice clientele .

We stayed for two days on a two nights for one basis that made our stay good value. We had stayed before and knew it was dog friendly. We had our Lab with us. He settled in well despite meeting the resident cat. The room, Troutsdale, was compact with the dog cage but I did ask for the room with the biggest bed. The bathroom with a shower was fine. We ate both nights in the restaurant and found the food to be lovely and tasty. Breakfast was included in the price and again cooked to perfection and a good selection. The staff are friendly and helpful. They work hard. The pub has a traditional feel with a roaring log fire. It is also very dog friendly. I would recommend a stay here and eating in the restaurant.

Went with family for a birthday Sunday Lunch. Lovely cosy traditional beamed inn with antique copper pans and brassware full of atmosphere. We had a genuine ‘Mouseman’ table by the woodstove and a hearty roast beef dinner with tasty Yorkshire puddings and all the trimmings. As well as crispy roast potatoes, lots of lovely veg including Savoy cabbage, cauliflower cheese, carrots and parsnips - delicious! Good choices for vegetarians too. Can’t wait to come again. Thank you!

Had a lovely overnight stay. We joined friends for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent, the room very cosy, spotlessly clean , lashings of hot water. Love the fact that they use local produce where possible . A very cosy traditional bar. All the staff were friendly and helpful, making our small gathering very special. A lovely place, very happy to recommend.
