My partner brought me for a few days over Valentines period . We stayed in room 5 which is a lovely refurbished double bedroom . The underfloor heating in the en suite was very welcome on cold February mornings . The room was well equipped with plenty of plug sockets/hair dryer/tea coffee/ toiletries and big fluffy towels. There is a...

The staff were really friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicous both in the restaurant and the bar and was great value for money. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Our room was really comfortable and quiet - no noisy disturbances from other guests.

Visited recently with friends. This is a dog friendly pub. If you have asthma like me be carefully. As these dogs normally have been in the sea, so the smell is very strong. Prices are high, with the pub being near the the beach. The food arrived for four of us and a dog close by urinated on the floor....

I wanted a quiet getaway before the holidays got rolling and stayed at the Red Lion for a couple of nights. The building is an old coaching inn and the pub is full of old-fashioned character, but my room was modern, spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly, capable, and willing to go the extra...

We are a local family living in the village of Alnmouth and we have enjoyed eating at the Red Lion in Alnmouth several times over the last few months, especially since the renovation in the front area of the pub, which is very pleasantly decorated and spacious. This evening we had booked a table for 6pm and enjoyed our starters...

Stopped for a light lunch. Brilliant. Food and wine reasonable and delicious. Real fire. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Highly recommended. If you need to use public transport, the bus stops right outside, towards both Alnwick and Newcastle.

We stayed here to walk a bit of the coastal path on our way up to Edinburgh. The bar is clearly the village hub with locals dropping in for a drink and a chat and we decided to eat in the bar and were served with delicious food by friendly staff. Some time after dinner we went up to a...

This is a busy local pub with rooms. Our room (2) was over the front and it was huge. The decor was lovely, the bathroom equally great. The only small niggle with the room was the TV. I understand why it's where it is but it's really small and unless you are sat on the bed difficult to watch. We...

Me and my wife visited here for Sunday lunch, roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, every mouthful was gorgeous, highly recommend the food. Friendly staff, this was our first visit and we intend to go back again before our holiday is over. We received a warm welcome and were able to take our dog into the bar too.
