Set off for a two night break with our wee dog to the Hope and Anchor and liked it so much we stayed another night. The room was fantastic, very clean and modern. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and the food was excellent and the staff were really nice and helpful. Alnmouth is a delightful place and the...

What an amazing place the room we stayed in Sandpiper is newly refurbished to an exalted standard and finish. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food in the Italian restaurant is delicious, which is also served in the bar / restaurant where dogs are welcome. All in all a very enjoyable relaxing break. We will...

My wife and I, plus 3 other couples stayed for 2 nights over New Year and had a great experience. The rooms are all modern, comfortable and well presented. The service is friendly and efficient. Breakfast is good, but there should be more flexibility on the time (only 1 hour), especially at weekends and holiday time. A lot of guests...

I have to update my review from may 2016 when I scored it top notch. The place is still very good, the food is still very good, the service is still very good. BUT, the policy of allowing most of those frequenting it to bring dogs and even multiple dogs, ruins the eating experience for others who are a bit...

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. We have always been dog friendly as over 90% of our business comes from dog owners. We do have the adjoining restaurant area which does not allow dogs in for those who do not want to be around dogs. I do hope this has not put...

Just returned from a weekend stay (we stayed in the Lapwing Room, which was beautifully furnished, with a very comfy bed & an enormous shower! Totally dog friendly, our mutt Archie was welcomed into the bar area for both dinner & breakfast, both of which were very good. The lovely housekeeper even brought Archie his own bowl of cooked sausage...

The Hope & Anchor at Alnmouth is almost exactly halfway between our home in the far north of Scotland and our friends in Kent, so a good stopping point on the way to or from home. Alnmouth itself is blessed with a huge, sandy beach perfect for walking the dog, and a chance to pull oneself after sitting in the...

Very pleasantly surprised with our room - all amenities, tastefully decorated in contemporary style with plenty of warm oak wood. Nice breakfast and a good Italian restaurant next to the bar for evening meals. Would have given 5 stars but there are no views to speak of, with its central location on the high street - you can't have everything...

Stayed here for 3 nights, the rooms are very nice indeed all individually named. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. We only had breakfast which you pre order each evening but the service and food were very good. The pub is ideally situated and proved a very good vase for our stay. The beach is very near and...
