Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As stranded homeless international travellers during Covid19 lockdown, The White Hart was tremendous in extending contactless hospitality to us at their wonderful Inn accommodation. Their innovation and creativity in supporting the village and surrounds with an online produce store and takeaway meal service are ingenious. The room was serviced to an impeccable housekeeping standard with high quality linen, pillows and furniture. We experienced the nightly takeaway meals which were both tasty and very generous in portion size. Their hygiene standards were meticulous and social distancing was fully maintained during our stay. Will definitely return in the future, once lockdown has eased, when we can have a drink with the landlord to thank him so much for providing us with a "safe port in a storm".

Stayed here in January to break our journey down to Kent. The hotel is on a main roads, but was never noisy and we were welcomed very warmly. Parking was no problem in the large car park. We had a room in the stable block, which was very large, comfortable and clean. The evening meal was perhaps a little expensive for a steak and mushroom pie, but tasted delicious. Breakfast was very good with a superb choice of food from cereals to an expansive full English. All staff we met were very friendly and asked frequently about our stay. We would recommend this hotel without question and will stay there again on our future travels to the south-east.

Had a lovely little night away escape here. Staff were lovely and accommodating - switched my room without issue when I said that I had actually requested one with a bath when booking. Staff were hugely friendly over dinner and food was great and good value.

We stopped by for their Sunday Lunch Carvery following a thumbs up from our elder daughter, though it is currently served to you at your table and at just £15 is excellent value.

The dining room is very pleasant and just off an attractive bar area where there was a good collection of drinkers enjoying bar snacks as well.

The food was very good and all topped with a huge Yorkshire pudding whether you had beef, or not and the desserts were good and the Americano coffee nice and hot for a change.

The staff were all young, but all had smiles and were very pleasant, all in all a very good lunch in a nice setting. 10/10

A great time celebrating my niece's wedding over a two day stay. The rooms were modern, well equipped and clean, but perhaps a little dark. The staff were excellent and made the whole party very welcome. The food was well priced and perfectly adequate for our needs, and the bar had a great atmosphere with a wide selection of drinks. First class breakfast!

Stayed here for a night after a wedding. Lovely hotel with great rooms and whilst on a main road it is not noisy. The room was spacious and very clean. And wonderful smell from log fires and the kitchen. However, after an evening celebrating with the bride and groom, water is a necessity and there was none. Surely providing a couple of bottles of water is not too much to ask when paying a three figure sum for one night?

We stayed over the Christmas period whilst visiting friends. The welcome was excellent and the staff were really good. A big plus was that the room was made up each day which some hotels have stopped doing for multi-night stays. Selection of drinks good. The room (14) was comfortable but in some respects disappointing. The toilet did not flush properly, the tiling and paintwork on the door frame in the bathroom were chipped. The shower screen was too short to do its job. Wifi did not have internet access during the night. The TV control only worked in the half of the room nearest the TV so you had to get out of bed to change the channel or volume or to switch off. On the first night we were disturbed by the noise from the bar which was immediately below, fortunately the hotel closed early the other two nights. Access to the hotel from the room was locked overnight and was not opened at 0700 as indicated. This meant you had to go outside in the rain to access the hotel and vice versa. There was no explanation of which external door to access the room when the rest of the hotel had been locked up. Breakfasts were good but seemed disorganised, no side plates or saucers or juices set out, limited ordinary tea bags. Plenty of car parking.

I was in Nettlebed and decided to call in at the White Hart for a coffee. Although directly onto a busy road the Inn was very nicely decorated inside and the road noise surpassingly quiet. The staff were friendly and the ambience pleasant - a nice spot to stop for a coffee ( and no doubt much more ). There could have been much more attention to covid protection

We stayed over night at the White Hart in Nettlebed after visiting Old Luxters winery
Our double room was spacious & clean with a large shower the room could do with a fresh coat of paint but considering what pubs went through during the lock down the painting can wait awhile.
We ha a evening meal the food was very good the staff friendly & service good.
Next morning we had a great breakfast hosted by the governor who was a great host.
I would recommend the White Hart.

We had a really nice lunch here. The young staff made us feel very welcome and there was plenty of room in the nicely laid out restaurant area. The food was excellent, including the South African favourite, Babootie.
