This is a typical Shearings hotel with a difference. The location is simply stunning. It was our first visit this far North on the West coast, the scenery is breathtaking. The food again is typical Shearings, not gourmet but a good choice at every meal, the quality is fine. The staff could not be faulted, service was excellent. Our room again... More

My husband and I stayed at the Gairloch Hotel from the 10th to the 17th of September. On the whole this hotel was in better condition than some of the other Shearings hotels we have stayed in. The best things were the politeness and effeciency of the staff who were without exception of a very high standard, and the view... More

My Fiancee and myself spent a week here from the 10th September. We stayed in room 208. We were very happy with the room. It was clean, comfortable, and immaculate. The food was excellent, (maybe with the exception of the lentil and sweet potato soup served one night, as it had no flavour). But the food was very good, and... More

Third visit and still impressed. Some changes to service but, in my opinion, better than Coast and Country at Portpatrick, Chambermaid gave excellent service in cleaning and tidying room leaving things neatly folded and arranged. Food service good to and quality good for the price. The included drinks package was good with options to upgrade, I didn't need to being... More

This is a lovely quaint hotel overlooking the sea. Its old and could do with some TLC but was clean. Food ok but could be better. Do ask for a room with a sea view as its worth paying for it views amazing.

Yet another great stay at this Hotel never tire of visiting. Food again was lovely now a self service buffet breakfast but that was fine by us some of the other less mobile guests were not too keen. Clean room. Staff friendly and they all seemed to work hard. Only downside was with the entertainment, No Ronnie Ross this year,... More

Went with Shearings on 13th August for a week stay at this lovely hotel. It is an older style hotel, nothing boringly modern, but that adds to the character of the place. Our room was spotlessly clean, walk in shower, comfortable beds and excellent room service. The food was good and varied and the meal times flexible which was an... More

There is a lovely dated charm to this old hotel. Perfect for walking holidays. Don't expect luxury but expect old carpets, faded curtains, warm service, grand frontage, hot showers and comfy bed with great views. loved it, i will be back.

A few of us met up in gairloch and having spoken with the locals tried numerous places to eat. We tried here and they could fit 7 of us in. The staff are lovely and so helpful we could not fault them. We checked out the menu and we had 3 choices of a 3 course meal. All for £15.... More
