We had a very pleasant 2 night stay in a deluxe room. The room was large, warm and very comfortable . A good shower and large bath. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The highlight of our stay was the quality of the food and service. We had afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast, all of which were of a very high standard and beautifully presented. Also a lovely situation with good views across the loch. Highly recommended for a peaceful, rural escape

This is our second visit to Shieldaig Lodge. The first was just after our wedding, this trip was for our first anniversary. This is a place to relax and read your book, enjoy some walking and savour local food in the most scenic of locations. The food and drink offerings are fantastic. Really lovely wine and whisky enjoyed during our stay. The rooms are very comfortable and you are provided with everything you could need. Brilliant breakfasts and very special dinners. We like a mix of fine dining and casual pub grub during a holiday so usually head down to the Badachro Inn for food on one of the nights we stay. We’ve recommended the lodge to a number of friends and family members. We highly recommend a stay here. We’ll be back in future.

As a treat for when I would be through chemo, I booked a Black Friday deal which meant I was to have the best room available at that time. Not expecting to have more than a classic double, I was delighted to be given a suite with a sea view and a bath. The bed was extremely comfortable, the towels large and fluffy and a plentiful water supply. The breakfast was very good and the evening meal delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful and it was a warm, cosy and luxurious stay. There are walks from the hotel but most of the time I just wanted to sit in my bay window and enjoy the view.

What a wonderful place! The family gathered here over Christmas for a special birthday and it didn't disappoint. The staff are amazing - couldn't do enough for you. The chef was incredible. All the food was glorious but two of the party had dietary issues and he took the time to sit down with them and discuss the menus. He even cooked a lasagne, specially for the 10 year old who told him she was tired of 'fancy food'. The rest of the staff handled a medical emergency brilliantly. The whisky choices were incredible, according to the whisky drinkers. Setting is superb and the rooms large, comfortable and well-appointed. Bathrooms roomy and well-fitted out. Highly recommended

We had a great stay at Shieldaig Lodge during our NC500 trip. The lochside location is fantastic, and we had great views from our room (which was huge and had a very comfortable bed). Breakfast and dinner were good, although the dinner menu was somewhat limited so we elected to eat out on the second night of our stay (can recommend the Badachro Inn). There are a number of nice walks directly from the Lodge. Staff were friendly and helpful.

My first and last time staying at this hotel. This is an amazing hotel set in a beautiful location, very quiet and tranquil with amazing views. The staff are all very well presented, professional and friendly. Can’t fault any of them. The food, especially the breakfast is outstanding, very well cooked and presented, locally sourced Ingredients where possible. The hotel decor is period for the age of the building, spotlessly clean and plenty of things from the period for you to look at and enjoy. The rooms are of a high standard, the bedding is especially comfortable and one of the best I’ve every slept in. There is a bar which has a large array of local drinks on offer and a wood fire to warm your cockles. I really could go on and on about the positives but it’s time for the only 2 negatives I’ve found…..at breakfast your toast is brought to you 10min before your breakfast food, meaning your eating cold toast with your hot breakfast. And the main negative for me anyway is the fact that dogs are allowed in the hotel. I have a major allergy to dogs which usually causes an asthma attack. Had I have known that the hotel allowed dogs I wouldn’t have booked. It does say this on the website but I didn’t read down that far so partly my fault. The large dog that was there had been in both the bar and lounge so they were both out of bounds to me for the remainder of my stay. (Do people not use kennels anymore): Soley because dogs are allowed in here I wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family as they feel the same as me and don’t want to share a hotel with animals, shame as it’s a lovely hotel and I would have loved to come back with my family for a weekend. I’ll just need to find somewhere locally that only caters for humans and not animals.

We had a fab weekend at Shieldaig Lodge. Our room was small but very comfortable, my only complaints being that there was no full length mirror and quite a draught coming through the sash window which didn’t fit too well. The food was amazing for both breakfast and dinner and the staff were friendly and efficient. All in all, a beautiful setting and a great place to spend the weekend .

More than a five hour drive to enjoy a Christmas 2022 voucher pressie from our kids didn’t disappoint. What a stunning part of Scotland. The Lodge is situated along a single track road on the edge of the loch. Beautiful. It’s winter, and since it’s a fleeting visit, we stayed close to the hotel to relax and recharge which was easy since it’s very peaceful. Plenty local beers and spirits in the small bar and if you’d prefer a more comfortable seat the lounges are lovely. We enjoyed the bar, the snooker table and the restaurant food was delicious. Probably the best cheesecake I’ve every tasted! We had a superior room upstairs looking out to the loch. The room was large, very warm, with a very comfortable bed . We had to turn down heating actually. The rest of the furniture was old, quaint, and very in keeping with the history of the place, retaining its character. Lovely large bathroom with toiletries supplied. Overall, a very lovely night in a picturesque part of amazing Scotland.

Never again, too expensive for well below average room and food offering. Only 2 choices for dinner, both quite poor. Room, in attic was very, very tired & grubby. This hotel gives Scotland a bad name, should be avoided if doing NC 500.
