Stayed a few nights here, intending to do lots of walking (that bit didn't go to plan!). The staff were friendly and kind. The room spacious and bed super comfortable. A little disappointing that there was no hot water for bath or sink, but there was for electric shower. Breakfasts were delicious everyday, as were evening meals. The homemade burgers...

Excellent food! V hearty fish and chips! Friendly staff! Nice busy atmosphere on Friday night. Had a great time - worth a food visit ! Interesting varied menu! Idea to book but probably can get a table if you just turn up and are few ! Go go go go go :)

Great variety of interesting beers, good food, especially the fish'n chips, friendly atmosphere, nice sitting outside in the garden, dogs no Problems. but the best: the Beer Fest in Summer with a bus shuttle to Porlock.

Good pub food at a reasonable price. Service was good. Would visit again, although maybe not for a special celebration meal. Good menu choice, not so wide ranging as to make it difficult to choose. Great setting at porlock weir.

I was walking part of the South-West Coastal Path with my brother and selected this b&b for a one night stopover, based on its rating on Trip Advisor. I can endorse all the favourable reviews I read. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the bar had lots of character and the en-suite bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner...

I booked a room for the weekend, as a short break for myself and my partner. On arrival, I was greeted happily by a member of the bar staff who gave me a card to put into the car window so we didn't have to pay any car park charges, once we had parked up we returned to the bar...

Great Value, Friendly B & B, and good honest pub food on offer (just like the Top Ship - its sister pub in that respect). The walk to Culbone Church is well worth it and the nearby Marsh ethereal and rather spooky. The Fish and Chips deal is excellent if you're there on a Friday evening. The weir seems an...

Stopped in for a snack lunch with 3 wet dogs on a cold January day. Pub is inviting with a log fire, decor could be improved, but it has a certain rustic quality. The part of the experience that really stood out was the exceptionally friendly barman. Made a real effort to chat, and gave us exceptional service. Despite being...

Compared to its sister pub, the Top Ship in Porlock, we felt this was tacky and lacked atmosphere. Such a shame in a truly beautiful setting by Porlock Weir. Staff were friendly, but pub was chilly and noisy. No cosy corners. Tables were sticky. Shame.

We looked at places to eat near porlock and we were recommended the bottom ship by hunters lodge b & b in porlock. We phoned to ensure they were open and accepted card payments, which they did. We arrived just before food service at 6pm and had a drink shortly before ordering our food. Must say that the service was...
