Great food and great pub. We went for dinner on a Wednesday and I thought the service was fairly average. The food was great but was only let down by the service. i still left a tip of cash on the table for them and it wasn't until I got home and re read the bill I saw they had...

As soon as I walked into the pub I realised it wasn't what I had expected and was disappointed. In my opinion the pub needs a good makeover. However, our room was very good: clean, stylish and comfortable. The shower room wasn't so good in terms of style, but it was very clean. We enjoyable a simple, but lovely fish...

The bar offers lots of light snacks and soft drinks in that area. The main restaurant has a real country theme and the food looks fantastic and the service is very good. They offer decent rooms to stay overnight in.

We got married close to the Royal Oak on December 3rd and used it as the base for the brides family and friends. We also had Sunday lunch for many of our guests there and stayed there ourselves. Charles and the team team did everything they could to ensure a very special weekend for our Wedding. The restaurant is cosy...

We were warmly welcomed in this lovely old inn. The service was excellent as was the food and wines. They served a very good affogato, espresso coffee over vanilla ice cream, as a finale ! We all had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and we will be back.

We took the opportunity of a free four days between the Christmas and the New Year festivities to stay in Sussex, partly so that my husband could walk a section of the South Downs Way, and partly so that we could revisit the Mary Rose exhibition in Portsmouth - having first seen the ship in 1983. Chichester is very nearby,...

There's a pleasant, unpretentious ambience about the pub/dining room. Food was good in parts with generous portions but the tastiest moments were all fishy including smoked salmon, mackerel and roasted hake. The steak and kidney special dish was ordinary and the dessert of Earl Grey sponge and raspberry had evidently come too recently out of the freezer. The wine list...

I have been visiting the UK on business for many years but when I am in West Sussex I do love to stay at The Royal Oak Inn! Very very comfortable rooms, fluffy duvets and lovely bathrooms. Bottle of wine in the fridge and Finest tea if you fancy something a bit lighter. It feels like Home away from Home.

We rang for a table at short notice after having been let down elsewhere and they happily obliged by accommodating 5 adults and a baby. It was a good choice as the service was very friendly and the food enjoyable. The Burger was very popular as was the fish and chips. The sweets were very tasty too.Nice cosy ambiance as well with...

We booked a family meal for a large party of 17 and we were very disappointed. The roast beef was particularly disappointing, very tough and in some cases inedible. When we pointed this out to the manager he wasn't sure how to deal with it? Instead of offering a replacement meal he took the plate back and then returned with...
