Our experience is not measured by the breaths that we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Our elopement to The Lodge on Loch Goil was one such moment. It is hard to put into words just how that moment felt. The surroundings are breath taking, the unbridled hospitality second to none but more than that the genuineness of Iain, Arlene and Janice is palpable. Their unobtrusive attention to detail, always being there when you needed them but not being overbearing together with a humbleness of approach is a rare thing. We originally expected to use the tree house but, in the end, we were glad it was no longer available as the intimacy of the summerhouse was better than anything a treehouse could offer. This place is so much more than a wedding venue. It is the culmination of many years of love from the owner and staff who went above and beyond to make our stay as memorable as possible. Some things money cannot buy, and the very special atmosphere of this venue is one such thing. Time stood still for the two days we were there, and we cannot recommend this place highly enough. We came as guests and left as friends our stay all the more meaningful because of this.

I cannot recommend a wedding at The Lodge on Loch Goil enough!! Iain has created a truly wonderful venue and team! Arlene and Janice are the best people in the world! No was not a word we heard during our entire stay! From the food to the drinks to the decor everything was perfect. Iain catered to every single thing we asked for! Even with last minute changes due to weather there was never a problem to big for them to resolve! Our wedding was a truly magical and memorable day! We had a day focused on us and full of smiles and laughter. Skye is also the cutest dog! From the start you drive in an amazing entrance and step out to spectacular view! For our entire stay we were kept fed with amazing food and any food we asked for we got! The whisky selection was fantastic and great cocktails too! On the wedding day the champagne was flowing the entire day and Janice was always checking in to see if I needed help or even just a reassuring hug at one stage to calm my nerves! When you stay you are treated to the most outstanding service, you are family! The rooms are amazing, especially the huge baths which I would visit again just for them! Iain also has gathered so much fantastic decor, like whiskey dipping dogs which we were able to use for pictures on our wedding day! If I was to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing! I loved our wedding day and couldn't have asked for anything more! I am forever grateful to the team at The Lodge on Loch Goil for making our day so special, so relaxed and such a dream!

I really should have reviewed our stay here as soon as we were married, but it kind of feels like closing a chapter and six weeks later, I am still not ready to let go of the little preview of heaven we experienced at The Lodge! First and foremost, the estate and the grounds are to die for - I have an MSc in International Tourism and Events Management, and I have to say the grounds reminded me of a mini Mount Stuart - just breathtakingly detailed and well maintained. When Storm Arwen knocked down the Tree House and we could no longer get married there, we honestly weren't that worried because we knew Ian and the team had a few options for us. We decided to get married in the lounge, right in front of a roaring fire and with a picture of Rabbie Burns hanging up next to us, and I could not be happier with our photos! We love putting the big fire on the TV at Christmas at home, so a real life giant fire felt super special. You could get married in the Orangery, by the shore, in the lounge, the library - loads of options, and that will probably be your hardest decision! (depending on how many of you there are). The registrar Samantha was incredible, and as Alice was ill, we had the honour of being looked after by Janice and Arlene. Holy Moly. All I can say is what a team - they went out their way to make sure we were looked after and never thirsty! And Arlene helped me with my dress and gave me my queues for going downstairs - my husband and I really felt like part of the family, especially since it was just the two of us, and creating such a lovely intimate environment is again, something you can't fake- you can only get it if you have the right people on the day, and man did we have the right people on the day! The food and drink was such high quality, and I absolutely loved my merry walk down to the summerhouse at the end of the evening, admiring the beautiful view and honestly, patting myself on the back for choosing a 10/10, what feels like money-can't-buy venue! If anyone is thinking of hosting their wedding here, either with a party or just a small group, I cannot reiterate enough that you are on the right path (if you want the path to perfection). If I knew you I would come to your house and give you a presentation on why this is the venue, because every bride deserves to be made to feel the way I was on my wedding day. Excuse me, I've just made myself cry thinking about how magical our experience was. Do it because YOU DESERVE IT!

Words don’t do justice to how magical and fantastic our elopement, with just the two of us, was. The venue is stunning and made it the prefect intimate wedding. Alice curated all the best suppliers and we used all recommended suppliers who worked together seamlessly. All the staff were very friendly and professional. The food was all delicious and comprised of a seasonal menu accommodating all dietary needs. Our glasses were never empty, enjoying prosecco, champagne and wine. As one of us drank cider they went to the effort of providing this instead which we thought was very kind. We stayed in the Summer House on our wedding night which was very cosy and romantic. They had really thought out the little touches such as the thistle designs on the cups, the luxurious bathrobes, soft throws and a complimentary bottle of wine for us to enjoy. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better we enjoyed lounging on the large balcony on the morning watching the seals go by. Due to covid we lost our original venue. That our wedding ended up being even more perfect than we could have hoped is testament to the venue and all the staff. We cannot thank Alice and the rest of the team enough for making our wedding day such a happy memory we will treasure forever.
