I dream about coming back to the cozy little pod by the river sheltered by the mountains! Every detail of this stay was perfect and Katie in Guest Services went above and beyond making sure our stay was special. We were so lucky that Kingshouse Hotel was booked up the night my boyfriend and I came through hiking the West Highland Way. I started looking further afield in Glencoe and since we both loved hot tubs, this seemed like the perfect opportunity for our first try at tiny house/glamping. The location is spectacular - set a little back from Loch Leven, nestled in woodlands by the river. Cabins are new, wee and gorgeous. However we were duped. We were bumped from a cabin in the forest along side the river (as per all the photos) to a cabin (#1-4) adjacent to the golf course, out in the open and next to a transmission line. The river cabins are all the same price (very expensive!) so one would think you get a forest/river outlook. Very misleading and disappointing - felt conned and ripped off! When we asked to he moved, we were told they were all sold out. We were offered an ‘offer’ for another date. However we live in Australia and unable to return! Not the point, Cabins #1-4 should be avoided, or offered at a lower price.

Hello, we are so sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. Riverbeds 1-4 are our lovely new pods which have bigger beds, large TV and also have inside seating area which in Scotland is a must sometimes. Yes it is stepped back from the river but you can still sit and listen to the relaxing noise while sitting outside. We have plated local bushes and trees and over the years this will grow and make these more private just like lower riverbeds! But the view looking off into the Mountains makes for an even better night sky and amazing sunsets. All the best, Lorna

Another fabulous trip to Woodlands- our 3rd. We used to drive past this place and say oh who would want to go there !!! Well us… and would recommend to anyone. The lodges are so cosy and luxurious, the hot tubs are perfect and the views are to die for! The staff couldn’t be more welcoming and needless to say the treats in the lodge never last ! It truly is magical and would recommend a trip up the hill to the secret shrine- ask for directions! It’s also extremely dog friendly with a towel, treats and a bowl for your pup. Our beagle loves his visits and he likes to make his presence known when he arrives but this is never a problem for the lovely staff! ( of course we make sure he doesn’t disturb the peace but the walks in the area are so extensive that he’s well tired out!).

Just back from Staying at the riverbeds for 2 nights and it was amazing. The views are breathtaking even on the drive up to the estate and the riverbed itself was stunning/cosy, it is very peaceful and relaxing. We loved the hot tub and the fact it was a step in one is even better so much privacy, - have no complaints, staff and locals are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Went for my partners birthday. We had an amazing overnight stay, the lodges had everything we needed. Loved hot tub, we hired fire pit and robes too. Will return soon. Loved the complimentary breakfast as well.

Just home for a weekend at the river bed lodges . And we were not disappointed. Lodge is small but it’s in the name wee . Heated flooring and every little detail is covered. Breakfast delivered in morning was lovely we also took eggs and bread for toast and scrambled egg in morning. Hot tub is lovely very private . We travelled into for William for lunch one day would defo recommend . Would definitely return . Five stars ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️

Took a nice walk around the area before enjoying some snacks on veranda next to the river. The hot tub was such a great way to relax during a busy trip. Enjoyed it for a one night stay but may be bit cramped for an extended period. Breakfast was great and check in/check out were easy.

Fantastic location, hot tub was lovely and toasty even when the weather was horrendous and freezing our tubs and lodge was warm and cosy. We had to call and make amendments to our booking but due to taking out cover when booking, everything was dealt with by the staff quickly and no problems. Great stay , great staff can’t wait to return.

POOR excuse of a 'family run' business - awful customer experience, bad morals, will never use again
I booked my stay at Riverbeds online paying a substantial amount for a 2 night break for my partners 30th birthday. 3 days before my scheduled arrival we found out my Mum had terminal cancer and she had days to a week left with us. I contacted reception and asked kindly for my dates to be moved to next year, I explained my awful situation, offered to come in their quietest time and apologised for the short notice. I was then told that this isn't in their 'policy' and unfortunately the money I had paid would be lost and my dates could not be moved. Absolutely zero compassion shown, probably the worse customer experience I have experienced, rude staff, I was told in the end ' you should have taken out our £15 peace of mind cover', A well established business poorly run and clearly…

Therefore, we were very disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction and you can be assured we have taken your complaint very seriously. While we understand how distressing this situation must be for you, we’re not sure this review is entirely fair. As with almost all Scottish hospitality businesses, we advise our guests to carry their own personal travel insurance. This advice is reiterated three times during the booking process. We also offer our own ‘Peace of Mind’ cover for just £15, which protects bookings when situations like this occur. ‘Peace of Mind’ cover is less expensive than booking a flexible rate on Booking.com or any other third-party and gives guests up until 24 hours before arrival to cancel or reschedule their stay. Furthermore, for all direct bookings made on our website, we offer a free 14-day cancellation policy. We consider ourselves to be extremely fair and flexible and we do our very best to assist in any way we can; however, as a small family-run business we have to set very clear terms because ultimately if we didn't we would not be able to function as a business. We make our policy on this very clear and in the booking process and in the confirmation email too. We are deeply sorry for your situation and we hope you understand where we're coming from. One of my most memorable stays for sure. I will be absolutely coming back just to enjoy the other lodges. We stayed in the Riverbed Lodge Number 5 which was perfectly situated at the corner with a spectacular view of the river. Everything you could think of is provided in the lodge be it hot chocolate, microwave oven, or even wireless chargers. You will not miss anything while being there. Size-wise it was bigger that expected with enough space for two large travel bags standing, adapting the minimalistic way of design. The room came with a jacuzzi too. The perfect thing about staying is having the chance to book extras such as wood to make your own bbq, or activities at the hotel as well such as E-bike hire, Segway Tour, Archery, golf, and more.
