Ideal venue for our first visit to the borders. Hotel itself was spotless, characterful and beautifully renovated. Christine, the owner, pays real attention to detail and quickly understood the sort of thing we liked and gave us some great recommendations. Kelso itself was charming with a good range of independent shops and frendly cafes/pubs. Thoroughly recommended!

We booked for 4 nights in the Townhouse after a long search for somewhere to stay in the Borders. Our initial search was for a hotel but there was either no availability or the prices were over the top. We don't normally stay in B & Bs but this turned out to be perfect. It is located in the centre...

I agree that the picture of the dining room gives the impression that everyone breakfasts together, but as you note each couple have their own separate breakfast table, I will get a new picture to show this more clearly. However if all three rooms...

We booked to stay at The Town House, Kelso at short notice. Christine, is a welcoming hostess, who is a mine of useful local information. We stayed in a room called, The Square, which is a large room overlooking the centre of Kelso. It is furnished beautifully, as is the rest of the house. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast...

We had the Hogarth room. Spacious, characterful and very comfortable. The house is quirky, full of nooks and cranny's and extremely interesting. Christine Vincent is a perfect hostess and her breakfast is delicious. From the selection of cereals, fruits, compote, nuts, yogurt and honey not forgetting the delicious local produce of cooked items and preserves. No effort or quality is spared. We will return and perhaps...

Three letting rooms available; The room called The Square has an emperor sized bed with double en suite shower room, two arm chairs and a small sofa, as the name suggests it overlooks Kelso's famous cobbled square. The Hogarth has recently been refurbished and has a kingsized bed and a en suite shower room with a powerful shower and optional massage jets. All rooms have TV's with free-view channels, WiFi and breakfast is included in the room price. The house was constructed in 1790 and is in the conservation area of Kelso the house is listed, having now been tastefully modernized it still retains great charm. Two rooms overlook Kelso' main square and the third is situated at the rear of the house. Its a great location if you are visiting Kelso for Racing, Fishing, Golfing, attending a wedding or just visiting the area for a few days or indeed passing through on the way North. The house is right in the center of Kelso and sits above Orvis for those of you who know the Square, but its entrance is down the cobbled Oven Wynd. Its a town center location and most times its very peaceful but occasionally when events are taking place in Kelso it can be a bit noisy on the occasional Saturday night. ... more   less
