We had a three night stay at the Old Priory, a B&B full of character in the heart of Kelso. Very comfortable and warm with a nice breakfast. Robin gave us helpful local advice - the best routes to other places, suggestions for some nice walks, and where to get an evening meal. The house is right in the middle of Kelso, and is easy to find.
I've actually lost count of the amount of times we've stayed at The Old Priory now. Kelso is our stopping off point for journeys further north. One day we need to extend our visit as the area has lots to offer. It is always a pleasure to stay here and recommend it without hesitation. We love Robin's sense of humour - especially now, a breath of fresh air in these Covid restricted times. Beds are comfy and breakfasts delicious. The house is immensely characterful and welcoming. Keep doing what you're doing Robin and we will see you next year!
Second visit. Despite all the current restrictions we enjoyed the old world charm and bonhomie from Robin. Good room and the usual excellent breakfast. Do not miss this gem of an establishment. There will be another visit .
Highly recommend this B&B in the historic town of Kelso. Our room (the study) was comfortable and the relaxed ambience a welcome touch - leaving us to freely come and go throughout our 2 night stay. Breakfast was first rate and the grilled tomatoes on the vine was a true reflection of this quality B&B.
We decided to visit Kelso after driving through and seeing how lovely the place is. We wanted somewhere that you could park the car and also not too far to walk into the centre. The Old Priory was perfect location. We had read the reviews so booked. Our room was at the front and was very spacious. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owner was wonderful and the full breakfast a must. There is a lovely garden and parking at the rear. This is a lovely old house and would recommend especially during the Kelso Cup in July when in the evening the town centre has a parade of horses and riders into the town square each night for a week. If you like your ale then Kelso has Scotland’s first micro bar Rutherfords which the owner also has their own gins. Don’t miss the bar owned by Tempest Brewery which also serves good food. …
