We stayed in this lovely house with artistic design and use of colours to complement the artistic inspiration of the Wigtown Book Festival. The hosts supported our vegetarian breakfast requests and were friendly and supportive of our needs as cultural tourists

Only stayed the one night but had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Rob & Julie were most welcoming and pleasant. The room was spotless with all which you would expect including tea/coffee making facilities. An excellent breakfast topped things off and we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Decent room with en-suite, TV, etc and a friendly reception. Breakfast was excellent and overall I would recommend this guest house to anybody wanting a short term stay in Newton Stewart. I do have one qualm though. They have showers in the en-suites but they don't provide small bottles of shampoo and shower gel. In fact there is just one...

We stayed here for one night after being badly let down by another B&B who cancelled our booking at short notice. We were made to feel very welcome in this lovely house. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is good and served with a smile. We would definitely recommend Rowallan.

We stayed 2 nights at Rowallen House, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our room was warm and comfortable, and the breakfasts were superb! I had haggis for the first time and have developed a taste for it.

Very nice B&B super clean and a good breakfast, freindly host. We were in town for the folk festival and all venues were in easy walking distance . We would certainly stay next year. Excellent value for money.

We needed a rest after a stressful few months and Rowallan proved to be the perfect solution. The house was full of character and interesting items from South Africa. However the "icing on the cake" was Julie Hart. We felt immediately comfortable with her, she was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was served in a lovely...

This was our first visit to Dumfries and Galloway. We will return. Our stay at Rowallan was very comfortable. We stayed in room 6, which has a king size bed, it also has a large bathroom with a bath. We had stayed in two modern hotels in Glasgow the previous 2 nights and whilst this is not a modern hotel,...

We stayed here while doing a section of national cycle route 7. They had the most secure and convenient cycle storage of our trip. We loved the period features to this big old house. Room 6 was large as was the ensuite. It was a very quite spot but really close to the shops/restaurants. Whilst it was one of the...

We are coming to the end of our holiday and have stayed at about 30 B & Bs. It was great to arrive at Rowallen and find a really comfortable bed in a quiet house surrounded by beautiful gardens. The town is within a short walk but Julie will make a 2 or 3 course meal for a very reasonable...
