This is a privately run friendly hotel in the centre of Castle Douglas and close to the very picturesque loch. Our room was very clean and the bed was more comfortable than most. The food was exceptional - if we lived 200 miles nearer we would eat there regularly!

Our second stay at the King's Arms and it won't be our last. Very friendly staff, excellent food and a good location for travelling to golf courses in the area. And David will even sort your golf tee times too! Roll on next June.....

Once again we visited The Kings Arms for an excellent golfing break. Everything we requested was provided as required, the staff were most friendly and welcoming, and the food was very good and plenty of it. For all eight of us, this was our third visit and we have already booked up for next year. Roll on.

The Kings Arms Hotel is our regular place to stay when working in this area! Really friendly staff who offer a warm welcome and join in with the banter at the bar, great food (evening meal and breakfast) and good accommodation. Job Done!

Excellent meal with friendly service. Choice of menu was good. We tried the Steak & Ale pie, Moroccan Lamb & chicken in chilli & pepper sauce amongst other things & all were lovely. Well worth a visit & they have lovely deserts as well especially the Rocky Road cheesecake
