Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were greeted by a lovely friendly host who made us feel really welcome. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable rooms. Quiet street with plenty of free parking. Very close to restaurants and pubs. Book a table in busy season as there are not many places to choose from. Breakfast was excellent too. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you.

From the start ..... warn and welcoming our host put us completely at ease. Our room is beautifully finished, the comfiest bed you could ever imagine, and we had the best night sleep for a long time - but before that a nice coory in front of that fantastic log burner with a dram from the decanter laid out on the dresser - what a perfect end to and brilliant day.. Add to that a top quality breakfast - absolutely nothing to criticise here and everything to praise. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and your wonderful attention to detail. Highly recommneded

We stayed just one night on our NC500 trip. The room was immaculately clean, the bedding drips and clean and the bed super comfortable. There is a cosy guest lounge with books and other reading materials available. We were not able to have the cooked breakfast as unfortunately Kathleen had tested positive for Covid and was keeping away from guests. Kathleen had tried to find alternative accommodation for us and called us the day before our arrival to tell us of this. She gave us the option of cancelling with full refund but explained that she had gotten someone else in to clean the guest rooms and she was staying away from guest areas whilst she was testing positive. She explained this would mean she would not be able to cook us breakfast but that they would place a tray in the room with fruits, breakfast biscuits and oat pots. This gave us the opportunity to make an informed decision as to whether or not we still wanted to stay. We chose to stay and we had a wonderful time despite not having the opportunity to meet Kathleen. I would highly recommend.

A lovely quaint guest house , compact room with all necessary facilities , a quiet lounge with cozy log burner to fend off any evening chills. We stopped over for a single night before taking ferry to Stornaway, we were sent off with a substantial breakfast that was included in the booking price. Exceptional value

We had a lovely stay at Creagan Guest House during October 2021. We had booked in advance, and found the place easily on our satnav. There is free street parking outside, and there was a note on the door for us when we arrived. We saw ourselves to our room, and just then, the lady owner popped by. She was very pleasant. The room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Our room only had a bath with a shower hose on a stand by the taps (i.e. no shower cubicle). Check when you book if this matters to you. It was an easy stroll into town. The next morning, we were treated to a perfect, cooked-to-order full Scottish breakfast. We would definitely stay here again, and are pleased to recommend it to you.

Just returned home from NC500 trip and found this guest house by far the best of the eight my son and I stayed in over our Highlands trip. Very comfortable room with quality bedding and excellent ensuite facilities. Super breakfast and very pleasant and welcoming host. Great location in the centre of town .Cant fault it and would highly recommend a stay.

A lovely night's stay in this B&B situated on a quiet street. Amazingly comfortable bed and a big bath to soak in after a day on the hills. Breakfast was great and in summary a good value option in Ullapool. Would recommend.

We’ve stayed at the Creagan Guest House on a number of occasions over the years (2006, 2007, 2010 and 2017 at least, so the ‘when did you travel’ tick box below is irrelevant); this review reflects our total experience to date. Photographs on the current website for the Creagan shows it has not changed since our last stay, suggesting no change of ownership, etc. The Creagan is one of the best, if not the best, B&B in Ullapool - and beyond! You receive a warm welcome every time from the hostess. And when the wood burning stove is lit, the welcoming ambience is enhanced even further! Rooms are clean and comfortable, with some of the best quality bed linen we’ve come across in a B&B or hotel. Together, this ensures a good night’s sleep on comfortable beds. The small sitting room and the breakfast room are also scrupulously clean. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order, with a wide choice of options. The quality and quantity often means you won’t need lunch! On quieter days the friendly hostess is happy to converse over breakfast. Such engagement enhances a stay because you don’t feel like it’s a ‘them and us’ situation (a failing of many B&Bs and hotels). The location, whilst not enjoying direct views over beautiful Loch Broom (although you can see the loch from some bedrooms), is within easy walking distance of the town and its facilities. And of course, Ullapool is known for being a friendly town - set amongst some of Scotland’s finest landscapes and sea lochs. Anyone who is not taken in by the surrounding landscapes must be tired of life - deliberately misquoting Samuel Johnson! The Creagan Guest House is very much a reflection of the very evident commitment and care put into the business by the hostess-proprietor. We are frequently in the area and whenever we need a night or two in the town, the Creagan is always our first choice. We look forward to our next stay, hopefully with overseas family in tow once the current coronavirus restrictions are completely lifted. In summary: highly recommended!

Had a lovely one night stay here on our honeymoon. Upon arrival we had been left a bottle of champagne and a congratulations card which was a lovely surprise! The room was perfect, really comfy bed and lovely bathroom. We stayed for breakfast which was equally as lovely. Would highly recommend! Thank you! *Also, it felt very clean and good measures had been put in place to stop the spread of Covid*
