Loved this place. It was the perfect space to chill out and rest after a long day touring the NC500. The room was large with all the necessary things we'd need. There was plenty of space for our things. The bed was so large and comfy. Great sized en suite bathroom and everything felt really clean. The check-in was easy and hassle free. We had all the information we needed before arriving.

We’ve just spent 4 nights in this lovely guest house, and we can highly recommend it. The room is spotless and well decorated, the bed is extremely comfortable and the shower is nice and hot. There is plenty of complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, along with a fridge and lovely crockery in which to enjoy your own breakfast. The view from the window onto the water is beautiful, the colours of the hills over the loch changing with the different light. We met Ayesha briefly and she was lovely.

This a lovely gem! Ayesha is a charming (and hard-working) hostess, who made us welcome with her cheery demeanor. The room which we were allocated (No. 1) was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and well equipped. As our room overlooked Loch Broome, the binoculars on the window-sill were a thoughtful touch. The glass-topped table, by the window, provided a handy surface for our breakfast (and other) snacks, whilst we availed ourselves of the panorama; although we found that the bar-stools provided were not greatly comfortable for our (quite small) stature! The welcoming gift of a small, decanter of Scotch whisky, was a delightful addition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Tom and Lyn Lewis.

The guest house was as advertised, very comfortable spotless and warm. The shower room/toilet was across the hall but was for our room only so no problem, the views from the room were fantastic. There was no breakfast but that was pointed out when booking but cereals tea and coffee were provided we just had to go to the local supermarket for milk for our cereals ( no big deal ). had a good nights sleep what more can you ask for.

A 3-night stay in a delightfully furnished, spotlessly clean and comfortable family room in a lovely home just north of Ullapool. The stupendous view, whatever the weather, took in Loch Broom and in the distance the Summer Isles. This is bucket list stuff if ever there was one.....and I live only 60 miles away!

Room Tip:Plenty of parking, unlike Ullapool itself, so use local taxis to get back into the village at night.

Ardlair is approximately 1.5 miles north of Ullapool on the A835 and is an excellent base whether or not you're just passing through doing the NC500 or spending a few days in the area (there are some good trails in Coigach and Assynt to the north). I was a bit anxious at the prospect of a non-en-suite bathroom, but it was clearly allocated only for our use and there were no awkward moments (I wasn't really aware of anyone else being around - so very quiet). Our room had amazing views and the complimentary shortbread and whisky were appreciated! Although Ardlair doesn't provide breakfast, there are some facilities in your room for eating and plenty of options for breakfast in Ullapool (the Ceilidh Place and the Frigate). Would stay again!

We couldn't have been happier with our choice of Ardlair Guest House. Originally I was a bit concerned about the lack of breakfast, but I needn't have been. The gracious host left an assortment of breakfast bars and breads, coffee, milk, and tea. We had eaten so many "heavy" breakfasts that we welcomed the continental breakfast! As others have noted, the view was beautiful and the room had many thoughtful touches, such as binoculars and a drawer full of brochures. The bathroom was modern and the shower was great. Parking was easy, the village was a short drive or moderate walk away. Our room was quiet, private, and spacious. What more can I say? Everything was perfect.

My partner and I stayed at the Ardlair whilst completing the NC500 in April. The Ardlair is just outside of Ullapool centre overlooking stunning scenery. Our bedroom was amazing and really well thought out. The room was spacious with a recliner chair and foot rest, high table and stools by the window to admire the views and s lovely ensuite finished to a high spec. The hotel was in a really peaceful location. The host provided lots of information including menus for local restaurants which was really helpful. Tea and coffee was provided and even a drop of Whisky which was enjoyed whilst reading the menus and overlooking the water. Beautiful place! Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay at Ardlair. On arrival we were greeted by Ayesha and got offered a different room which was bigger and had an en-suite. That was really nice. The room was quite spacious with a very clean bathroom, nicely decorated. We had coffee and tea making facilities but it was the little touches that really made it, the binoculars to look out the window (the view is really nice), the little biscuits and chocolates. It is about1 mile away from the town but the taxi was inexpensive and a good and friendly service too. Ayesha gave some tips on where to eat out (although many places were closed), while Laureen, the taxi driver drove us around Ullapool to show us dining places. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely place and will gladly stay there again when I am back in Ullapool.…
