We had been here before and had very good service and the staff made both of us and our dog very welcome. However on this occasion this was not the case. The attitude towards us from one member of the staff was rude, unwelcoming and unprofessional. Not at all dog friendly. The lady I spoke to on reception about the matter couldn't have been more different and came and made a fuss of our dog. I was given an email address so that I was able to send an email to the owners about our experience. Which I did that evening and ten days on have still yet to get a reply. We left there after having a mediocre standard of overpriced coffee and cake and went to the Caledonian hotel where we were staying before catching the ferry next day. The service there could not have been more different. Welcoming, professional, good food at a reasonable price and a lovely overall experience. I would certainly recommend this hote/ coffee shop lto other dog owners as I'm afraid the experience at the ceilidh place will certainly mean we will not be returning. I appreciate that everyone can have an off day in the hospitality industry, however the marked difference of service level we received from this particular staff member compered to those who did not have a dog was glaring. And to add to this no reply to an email from an unhappy customer making the manager/owners aware of the poor experience received simply shows a lack of interest in anything other than making money. Claims to be dog friendly but on this occasion anything but .…

We moved locally 2 years ago and can't believe we hadn't been here. We came down for lunch yesterday and everything was perfect. The small plates were excellent (especially squid & haddock scotch egg). Coffee and desserts were also such good quality. We'll definitely be back again soon!

A charming meandering hotel with a lovely community room with a self service bar. They accommodated our family of 3 by providing an extra bed for our room. Great views of Loch Broom. Breakfast service was among the best breakfasts we had in Scotland.

We had dinner there and chose the pork chop, mash, greens with cider gravy, ten out of ten for quality and quantity. Friendly staff offering great service. Desserts were only average but in saying that, we would certainly eat there again.

Generally good food, friendly waitresses etc. BUT ..... Why, oh why!! have you had to follow the hoards and invite SO many dogs into your restaurant ! Quite frankly, if I wanted to 'eat with dogs', I'd book a table at Battersea Dogs Home! Dogs are lovely creatures BUT in the right place - which, in my opinion, is NOT under / next to tables and even on dining chairs in a public restaurant. Some of the waitresses couldn't resist petting and fondling the dogs of various sizes and breeds. Did the staff wash their hands again before they picked up the next order from the kitchen, set cutlery on the tables or handed out the bread? We'll never know. Surely people can leave their dogs for an hour or so while they go out to dinner - or, perhaps having a take-away would be another option. Another suggestion - you could build a special 'kennelled' section next to the hotel so that the dogs could be safely housed while 'dinner was being served'. …

This is a twofer review: the hotel, and the restaurant. We booked well in advance. The hotel is a funky wonder with a lived-in feel. Close to the waterfront but it was so windy that day/night that skipping a stroll and staying in was a no-brainer. Plus, this place is cozy and fun. Our 2nd-floor room was comfy and roomy, with a well-modernized bathroom. Clean, and quiet. Bonus: Around the corner, a large library/study/lounge, equally quiet (it’d be interesting to see what it’s like with music downstairs). And an Honesty Bar! You pour your drink and mark the sheet, to be paid for later. The restaurant: Good pub food and drinks, w/friendly service. We didn’t have the bad experiences other reviewers have reported. Breakfast was fresh and hearty. Bonus: A really nice bookstore, off to the side, with a curated collection that leans heavily Scottish. After hours, you pay for your books at the bar. I got a bit of ribbing from the bartender for buying a history of the Scottish Clearances by T.M. Devine. She’d recently earned her Ph.D. in Scottish history and said I’ll need to pick up a book on the topic by Jim Hunter (I believe) to balance out my understanding ☺️ Funny.…

What a wonderful place! Lovely spacious and comfy bed with traditional furniture and super up to date bathroom. Amazing residents lounge with great views. Small kitchen and honesty bar. Even a chaise lounge (want one..) Breakfast was delicious served by lovely staff and all the crockery and cutlery are obviously carefully chosen - elegant and ah... We treated ourselves to dinner too and it was exactly that - a real treat. We will be back for more extra special time in the lovely location of Ullapool!

First time visiting in Ullapool and first time at restaurant with my mama for catching up with my family and large group on a Saturday evening. Had a nice wild mushroom risotto and New York Cheesecake. Everyone were satisfied with their food. Friendly staff. It has a bookshop in hotel.

The food has gone totally downhill since last year. Very small helpings at inflated prices. Food bland & poorly presented. Very limited seating at the bar & only a few high stools. Barman rushed off his feet while other staff chatting to each other.
