Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I completed the NC500 back in October 2018 and when we got engaged later that year we immediately knew we wanted to Honeymoon in the Highlands. We found Tigh Na Mara and booked it almost immediately, it just looked so beautiful. When we arrived we found the chalet to be better than we had expected. It is more spacious than I appreciated and it is very, very well equipped with good quality items at that. We love watching the bay reveal it's beauty every morning and I can assure you the view never gets old. It is very relaxing in the chalet and a great base for wee drives and day trips. As you look out towards the bay you feel you are a million miles away from civilisation, however the main road is just behind you and Ullapool is a mere 3 to 4 miles away with some lovely places to eat. If here, try the Seafood Shack... it's so good. The fresh seafood all around is such a wonderful treat. We just love it here and already agree (half way through our stay) that we'd like to come here again. Simply superb.

We had the most amazing week staying here in October. The weather was great, dry and sunny everyday, so we would open the curtains to blue sky and a simply beautiful view of the boats on the water right outside our chalet every morning. The chalet was very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The area is full of wonderful beaches and walks within driving distance. Loved it so much we are booking again for next year. Fingers crossed for the same weather! 😁

What a beautiful place to stay nestled in the cliff overlooking the bay. Julian and John have thought of everything. The addition of binoculars to watch the wildlife in the bay was a great idea and we spent many happy hours watching an otter feeding and divers dipping. Extremely comfortable and well equipped the perfect place to relax and recharge we have had a wonderful stay

So comfortable, warm, well equipped with a breathtaking view of Ardmair Bay. The conservatory was our favourite feature! Such a wonderful location to explore some of the most dramatic and stunning scenery in the world.

Croft Cottage was fabulous. The setting is great set back from the road. Great for watching the super cars on the North 500! Views to the Summer Isles across the sea gorgeous. But the cottage ... great quality appliances and kitchenware, comfy beds, loads of plates, glasses, sharp knives. And oh joy the thoughtfulness of dishwasher and washing tabs, kitchen roll, napkins, washing up liquid etc. Stove is fab and quality as well as the supply of logs - well done. Conservatory is great - more comfy seating would be good. The Ikea chair in the photos is so great but not here 😕 so a couple of those would be super. All round perfect relaxing break from very busy work.

A stunning location with outstanding views. Surrounded by nature in the bay and on land itself. Dal-Na-Mara was near perfect, the accomodation was clean and well kept with everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the towels were soft and fluffy. Simply a beautiful place to stay.

Took a while to choose this but so glad we picked Corncrake cottage. The cottage sits on the main road but you don't hear any traffic - you see the amazing view over Ardmair Bay. Sleeps four but was only two of us plus dog. Parking for two cars. Good bit of fenced in garden with bench overlooking the bay. Secure for the dog.Good washing line too! Cottage well designed. Really good space. Nicely decorated. Nice kitchen leads into sitting/ dining room overlooking the bay. Great utility room space with washer and dryer. Upstairs are two good bedrooms with ample wardrobe space. Stunning views over the bay. Good sized bathroom with shower over the bath. Nice bedding and towels. Comfy beds. A very warm house!!! What needed improving? Sounds petty but a milk pan, a towel rail for the bathroom, one of the lounge windows had 'blown'. I'd definitely recommend to others and I'd stay here again. Great position to get to Ullapool and the rest of the NC500!!

You couldn't wish for a better spot. Situated right on the shoreline, I spent many lovely hours distracted from my attempts to work remotely by the amazing view, and "Oscar" the otter who swam by every day. The cottage itself is very clean and tidy, with good off street parking, and a nice written guide to get familiarised on arrival. it's well appointed. Wireless broadband is sufficient (streamed Sky Sports OK on an iPad). The TV has a Sky Q box which was great, though the Sky Sports subscription wasn't activated which it said it was in the cottage docs. The bed was super comfy, with clean linen, and the bathroom was just fine with clean, huge and fluffy towels. The cottage was warm - the heating seems very efficient. No pound coins needed for the meter any more - hooray! For cooking, the stove is electric (there's no piped gas up there), and there was a microwave. Overall, I had a superb stay, really enjoyed it.
