Fantastic accommodation and lovely hosts. I wish we could have stayed for longer. The house is full of amazing artwork from local artists and Shirley herself. Great choice of breakfasts offered. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay at this lovely B &B

Terry and Shirley run a very comfortable and stylish establishment. This was my sixth visit.. that says a lot. There are other regular visitors too.
They have implemented Covid-19 precautions/restrictions very thoroughly - mask wearing, sanitizers, cleaning regime, socially distanced breakfast room...
Our own room was small but big enough. The bathroom is also small with high quality fittings, but shower only. That said, there was quite enough room for us. Accommodation is functional (e.g. hanging space rather than wardrobe) but very stylish with high quality fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen.
The whole establishment benefits from an artistic eye from the decor to the original artworks adorning the communal areas. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a great short break away at this boutique style guest house. Lovely room with delightful art inspired details, quality fittings throughout, immaculately clean, stylish accommodation. Excellent facilities. Good choice of breakfasts and cooked to a very high standard. We appreciated the quality crockery and cutlery - nothing worse than eating and drinking from cheap cups and cutlery! Terry and Shirley made us feel very welcome and it was a real pleasure staying in their guest house. Would heartily recommend to family and friends.

Friends hold Westlea House in high regard, and having stayed for 3 nights I can absolutely see why. Terry and Shirley were very welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and facilities available as restrictions eased. The accommodation was beautifully decorated, with great individual pieces of art, very clean and the area to relax in with a wealth of CDs and vinyl was a real bonus. Thank you!

Westlea House is a gem! The rooms are beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean with comfortable beds and great showers. We stayed in the Munro room and loved the view of the mountains. We also stayed in the Beach room (an unexpected extension of our stay that Terry and Shirley kindly accommodated) and loved the seaside décor. Lots of lovely amenities and use of a fridge. Breakfasts are delicious and the selection is huge. Personal favourites were the bacon sandwich (so much more than it sounds) and the cheese tray. Terry and Shirley were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond when we blew a tire on departure day.
Westlea House is within walking distance of everything in Ullapool, including the Seafood Shack (kept going back, so good), Tesco and the Ullapool Laundry (same day laundry for a reasonable price). It's the perfect place to stay on the West coast!

Glad we could help out when you hit problems but at least it meant you got to try two of our rooms. It means a lot to us when guests note the cleanliness, comfortable beds, great showers and delicious breakfasts because that shows we are delivering all that guests should expect from a B&B. We hope you were able to enjoy the remainder of your Highland exploration and we that you might return in the future. Kind Regards Terry & Shirley

We spent 2 nights here at Westlea Guest House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Terry and Shirley were both very welcoming and we were made to feel right at home. The room was spotless and the bed very comfy - and the breakfast was delicious and filling. Would recommend the Frigate for dinner (5 mins away) and also the Seafood Shack (3 mins away) for a quick lunch stop.

Thank you!!

Set in a quiet leafy street the house was extremely tastefully furnished and decorated. No bland beige here.
Breakfasts were exquisite and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
I would thoroughly recommend it.

Thank you! We decided to ban the beige and pine very early on so we are very pleased that you agree with our taste. All we can ask for is that you enjoyed your stay enough to feel happy to recommend us and that seems to have been achieved. We hope to see you again. Kind Regards Terry & Shirley

Terry and Shirley were the most welcoming of hosts and provided us with superb hospitality. Excellent bedroom with a modern ( if a little on the small size ) bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast each morning was really very good --unfortunately they didn't do dinner in the evening. On our second night they suggested that we could use the dining room to bring in a take away meal and bring in our own wine.
What a good idea !!

We know you were on a tour and no doubt staying in many lovely places so welcome the fact that you took time to leave this very good review. You like many others have taken up the opportunity to enjoy a take way in our socially distanced dining area because I know it has been a challenge booking a table in restaurants with restricted seating available at this time. Glad we could help. Kind Regards Terry & Shirley

We truly enjoyed our very short stay at Westlea. It is clear why this fantastic b&b has such high ratings. Attention to detail is very obvious with high standards from the moment you arrive. Completely recommend this little gem

We stayed for 2 nights in the Forest room as part of a 10 day drive along the West Coast. The rooms and the whole house are tastefully decorated with attention to detail. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. There is a small fridge that can be used by guests. There is a common lounge, very cozy and again beautifully appointed with nice pictures. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The breakfast room can be used in the evening if you want to bring a take out (fish and chips, pizza, Indian within walking distance).
The location is excelente, 1-2 blocks from the water front, shops and restaurants. At the moment many restaurants are short of staff, you need to book ahead or use take out. There is also a Tesco 1 block away, which is convenient if you are heading north. Parking available at the door for the 4 rooms. Finally, the hosts (Terry and his wife) are welcoming and can provide lots of tips on the area. I will highly recommend this place and will certainly stay here again!

Thank you for your lovely and detailed review of Westlea House. We are very pleased that you would recommend us and hope to stay again. Your comments about pre booking where possible somewhere to eat are absolutely correct. I know the restaurants are trying their best in challenging times at the moment. That is why so many guests are taking the opportunity to bring food back to our lovely lounge whilst enjoying the surroundings, art and music. Thanks again and Kind Regards Terry & Shirley
