Staff were friendly and very accommodating with us taking a large dog. Food was really good. The room was nice, well furnished, but not the biggest I have had for the price, and I was a bit sad that as we stayed out of season and it was not likely to be busy, we weren't given a view over the...

We visited here for lunch and found the place initially empty and decidedly chilly. We ordered our bar meals and drinks and after a while, more people arrived to have a drink and some lunch and the coal fire was heating the lounge by now. I opted for the Leek and Potato soup served with some bread and butter, and...

After settling into our B&B we decided to explore the village, and look for somewhere for dinner. We strolled along the water front shops and finally settled on the Ferry boat mainly because of the seafood. Hubby pied for fish and chips but I decided to try the langoustines. They were so delicious, very different to our Australian seafood, but...

We chose this hotel as we were taking our dog north for 3 nights. The hotel was very welcoming of him; no issues with access. He was welcome in the pub and that meant we were able to relax. The barman was particularly friendly, always quick with a bowl of water for the dog and he wasn't shy in throwing...

Having disembarked off the ferry from Stornoway, I was looking for a decent pint of real ale of which there are many in this part of the world. From the outside, the Ferry Boat Inn looks like the quintessential British pub and I had great expectations for it. Well, for a start, we found it difficult to find the entrance...

Just spent two nights away in Ullapool and stayed at the Ferry Boat. We stayed here five years ago and by sheer coincidence, ended up in the same room. Not a lot had changed and it probably needs a bit of care and attention. For example, the wardrobe doors that you couldn't close back in the day still don't close...

Everything I needed. I wanted to maximise daylight hours on the hills, so Nigel and the chef were easy with serving my breakfast a little early. Sandra was friendly and helpful, providing a much needed pint at the end of my day. The place itself has a magnificent location - on a warm late afternoon it's okay to sit out...

We stayed at this small hotel for one night before catching the ferry for Stornaway on the Isle of Lewis. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful. Our room had two huge single beds which were very comfortable and suited us well as well as a large, clean bathroom with a large bath, a shower and loads of hot water. The...

Called here for lunch and a pint and our dog was allowed in which was great, as was a rainy day. Only small inside but welcoming. Enjoyed B L T sandwich, was yummy and a pint of cider. Plenty of people coming in. Will definitely call again.
