Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in the self catering apartment in February 2022 and it was simply stunning. The flat is very well equipped and the views across the bay and the Luskentyre beach are breathtaking. Although the owners were not on site during our stay they stayed unobtrusively in contact by text. Had a great week despite the weather and would hope to return soon.

We recently stayed for two weeks in this wonderful accommodation for the second time and have already booked up for our next visit. Having stayed in other properties in the Luskentyre area we can vouch for this being the one which offers the most stunning views of the incredible beach which is a few minutes walk away. Agnes and Bill are excellent hosts and kindly supplied us with fresh vegetables and eggs. Bill provided us with maps of the island and recommended walks and beaches to visit and has a wealth of local knowledge. Along with the apartment there is also a fantastic modern B&B with large double bedroom complete with en-suite in the main house which also has fantastic beach views. All in all a great holiday and we’re looking forward to our next visit!

There is so much to say about this beautiful little place I just don’t know where to start! The self catering accommodation is fantastic. It’s clean, tidy, intimate, homely, has fantastic views (rain or shine), it has home comforts along with the cutest & warm peat stove (with peat supplied!). The location is the perfect base. We stayed a week & didn’t want to go home! Agnes & Bill were on hand if you needed anything and we’re only too happy to help. There was nothing that we wanted for. I can’t recommend this place enough (and have been to friends!) & we hope that one day we will be back. Thank you for a great week (even though it rained a bit!!) & thank you for looking after us x

Perhaps the best self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in, hosted by two of the nicest people. We can only echo what other reviews have already said. The location 20yds from one of the best beaches anywhere is stunning and the views constantly change as the tides and weather change. The flat is excellently equipped with high quality white goods, kitchen equipment with great bathroom, heating. Agnes and Bill are great hosts, providing eggs, veg and ginger cake! Can I give it 6 out of 5?! Thanks again Agnes and Bill for a great week.

Excellent apartment, very well-equipped. The central heating made it very cosy, despite some strong winds. We lit the peat fire 3 times for the experience. Wonderful views of the constantly changing Luskentyre beach/estuary. Great hosts.

Me and my wife stayed here and fell in love with the place! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome by Agnes, who greeted us with a freshly baked gingerbread which was delicious! On top of that a lovely hamper in the apartment with local oatcakes and amongst other things fresh eggs from Agnes and Bills hens. Bill popped in to introduce himself and check everything was ok later that day and was a complete gentleman. Bill and Agnes are only next door and made sure you didnt want for anything but the apartment still feels really private. When inside i couldnt stop looking out the windows onto the stunning beach views. As the light changed and the tides came and went it was breath takingly different each time. There is a wood burning stove and a good supply of peat for those colder nights. Great comfy bed and a lovely modern bathroom and kitchen with everything you could need. Our family had rented another property 5 mins away but we all spent the majority of the weekend in here as everyone loved it so much. We will definitely return.

We spent two wonderful weeks here self catering. The views from every window of the property are absolutely stunning. Luskentyre beach is within touching distance. We have stayed in many self catering properties over the last 20 years. This property is head a shoulders above any others we have rented. It was well equipped and included a great peat fire and very handy drying room for those days when it was a little wet! Bill provided us with a fantastic welcome, a great welcome pack as well as fresh vegetables dug straight from the garden and eggs from his hens.

We spent a week in this wonderful property which is just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The views from the patio doors and kitchen window were fantastic and it was a thought to leave at the end of the week. Our hosts Bill and Agnes were lovely and we received a wonderful welcome gift box full of goodies. Bill loaned us maps of the area and gave us loads of info on local walks and also on great places to eat out which of course we had to try and he was right, they were fantastic! This is such a relaxing place to stay with all the mod cons for self catering, and even has a bread maker and a nespresso machine so we managed to get our daily coffee fix. There were also fridge freezer, washer/drier, oven/micro, induction hob and a dishwasher. The shower was great with plenty hot water and the bed was very comfy. Walks round the beach were fantastic and we did a circular 3 mile route along the beach and back the road or visa versa twice a day. The light changed all the time and with views like that who needs to watch the TV, a great place for photographers also and ideal for those who just want to chill. A highly recommendable property to rent with the most lovely hosts. Many thanks Bill and Agnes you made our holiday so so enjoyable, we hope to come back!

I’m really tempted to give a poor review because I want to keep this place to myself. It is heavenly. This is the most amazing place on earth, peaceful, healthy, beautiful beach, sand, with the most amazing breathtaking colours in the evening skies and sea. The flat is so peaceful, relaxing and is just so good for your soul. It is comfortable and the owners have thought of everything. You will not need for anything at all. The flat also has a drying room which was so helpful as... yes.... it does rain (as the clouds come off the sea and hit the land) but the showers are quick and heavy. The drying room dries everything overnight. We went in Oct 2017 and I really just wanted to up sticks and stay for ever. You will not be disappointed !!! The owners are nearby so if you need anything they are on hand and they are really lovey. So please yes stay here (max 2 people) but please leave room for me to book too. ....It is non smoking which was invaluable to me as I’m allergic to any sort of smoke. I only have one reservation which is please please check the wood burner (open th door and look inside) before you light it as we had a bird which came down the chimney and was fluttering inside the burner all night. We didn’t realise where the fluttering was coming from until we opened the wood burner door. I opened the front door and luckily it flew away unharmed out into the beautiful sky. Yes please stay her but keep it quiet as this place is areal gem and so private too.

What can I say, this place was situated in the most beautiful location ever. It was just jaw dropping.. My friend and I, were lucky enough to stay here for a week, at the beginning of April. The owners were unfortunately away at the time, however, we were looked after by the wonderful Dot. We had fresh eggs, from the lovely hens. We were surrounded by an abundance of wildlife. The apartment was spotless, and very well equiped. Very comfortable, with a lovely peat burning stove. We had our own private access gate on to the beach. The view from every window was just stunning, the colours changed, whatever the weather. Luskentyre Beach has got to be one of the best beaches in the world. We spent many hours on the sands, in the dunes. Flying our kite. It was just breathtaking. One of the most spectacular locations ever. We were very sad to leave here, we really were. We felt very privileged to have been able to stay here in such luxury, and beautiful surroundings. P.S Agnes & Bill, If you ever need a housesitter, and Dot is not available. Then be sure to give us a call. Ali & Angela.
