It took some time to get to grips with planning a week's trip to the Outer Hebrides for the first time. Now I feel I know it all and need to return again already. Harris is by far our favourite island, the beaches, mountain climb, walks, swims in the crystal clear sea, great meals and really kind, charming people. Flodabay Cabin was absolutely perfect, a really comfortable sweet cabin, with fully working kitchen, oven and hob, microwave, fridge, (incl tea, coffee, salt & pepper) excellent bathroom / shower, very comfy bed with pop up TV screen! and the most important part.. the stunning views over Flodabay and hot tub. We would never book somewhere for the hot tub but here we used it every day, easy to use (uncover and step in) and we were able to enjoy those stunning views, even at night to enjoy gazing at the milky way, and also in the day to watch golden eagles soaring over head. Breathtaking. We were lucky with the weather, sunshine to explore and enjoy the views. It rained the last part of our trip and the cabin was the perfect place to rest, and get cosy in-between walks. The B&B is a separate business down near the house. The cabin is behind and up the hill with it's own driveway, behind a secure gate, and own land. beautifully remote. 2 lochs a short walk behind the cabin too. We stayed 4 nights. Thank you Tony for making us feel so welcome and for checking in with us throughout the stay. It was hard to leave.

Upon arrival I was amazed to see how private the chalet was with the most breathtaking view from the front. It felt like a small home from home and was a very relaxing experience. I stayed for two nights with my boyfriend and we loved the scenery that was around us encouraging us to use our time to explore and walk around flodabay. Tony and Sharon have amazing information packs and maps of the surrounding area which helped us plan out where we were going to go and what we were going to do. We were able to fully switch off from our busy lives by relaxing in the hot tub which has a Bluetooth speaker and when the night falls even has lights that come on. When it became colder outside into the evening the hot tub was still enjoyable with the perfect temperature. When it was time to go into the chalet we made use of the cookery appliances cooking a lovely meal. There was a good space to prepare and cook food as well as the clean up afterwards. The bed was comfortable and the telly comes out from the bottom which left the evening movie night feeling cosy and enjoyable. The shower is really powerful and is just what I needed in the morning to make myself feel fresh and then off for another dip in the hot tub to further relax. Again Tony and Sharon were the friendliest hosts and really took the time to explain and show around the chalet. They engaged in chit chat and made my partner and myself feel really comfortable and like we really were staying at a small home from home. I will definitely be staying here again! It is well worth the hype and the experience again. Emma Macleod

As soon as you drive off of the ferry onto Lewis/Harris soil, you know you're somewhere special. Despite being within view (just!) of mainland Scotland, you feel like you're on a different continent, such is the rugged beauty of these wonderful islands. With the bendy, elevating, single lane roads, winding around the beautiful coastline, you could easily forget you're still on UK soil - by the way, did I mention the dolphins that swam along with the ferry? As Tony meets you at the gates to the private croft that the chalet is located on, the adventure starts immediately, with a foot-down blast up the (fairly) steep gravel track that leads you to your little chunk of paradise. The chalet itself is everything you'd expect, having read the description on the website, and seen the pictures. It's exactly as Tony and Sharon describe it - and then some. What they can't describe (can anybody?) is the feeling you get when you walk around the chalet, look out over the bay (See attached picture) and realise that this piece of heaven is all yours for the duration of your stay. And I mean, all yours, it's so beautifully secluded. In short, Flodabay Farm will reset your ideas of what relaxation is and send you home with a newly discovered calmness in a world that's currently going bonkers. It's a Wonderful place!

After reading the incredible reviews about the chalet I decided to book it as a surprise for my husbands 50th! I couldn’t have made a better decision, from the moment I first enquired to the minute we waved goodbye our hosts Tony & Sharron just couldn’t have done more to make our stay perfect. Incredible communication, advice and suggestions, and the most delicious venison burgers & wild boar sausages (highly recommend ordering these)! The chalet is the most beautiful, secluded corner of heaven I have ever stayed at, actually no words or photos will do justice to the utterly beautiful setting, I don’t think either of us have felt so relaxed, at peace and switched off in a very long time! The views are breath taking, the silence is indescribable and the location just unbeatable. The chalet itself is kitted out with everything you might need including plenty of helpful and thoughtful extra touches as well, binoculars which were wonderful for hours of bird watching and seal spotting! They even put a few local beers in the fridge for the birthday boy, so unbelievably thoughtful! The hot tub was just incredible and sitting there looking out to sea at the end of the day was just magical. I just cannot recommend this place enough, a real opportunity to switch off and reconnect with nature and yourself. Huge thank you to our hosts and we will be back without a doubt!

Thank you Tony and Sharon for creating your beautiful luxury secluded chalet with its amazing views and tranquility. It is spotlessly clean, immaculately kept, quality throughout, comfy and cosy. "Everything" you need is there and even thoughtful wee touches like extra towels for the hot tub. The reference book was used often, very helpful and up to date. The hot tub in the evening was "truly wonderful" Tony, your welcome was so warm and your understanding of our ferry re routing and trying to help whilst we got everything sorted was appreciated. We'd love to come back again. In the meantime..continue doing what you're doing for your guests and providing your great customer service. For anyone reading this review, don't hesitate to book Flodabay Farm Chalet!

Thank you Hughie & Kahere, your comments make this all worth while and are very much appreciated. We continue to struggle with ferries being cancelled at the last minute. Please dont let this put you off coming back to our wonderful Island as you were amazing guests and would love see you return in the near future.

Beautiful place with stunning views, we were greeted at the gate and checked in within a few minutes. We stayed in the chalet which was very clean , cosy & homely. The layout in the chalet is great and there is everything you need for cooking to board games. The WiFi is excellent and the smart TV even has Sky Cinema on it. Our highlight was definitely the hot tub, so easy to use and the views from it either day or night are beautiful. We definitely will be back again. Thanks 😊

What a lovely wee slice of heaven. The chalet is a perfect secluded getaway. The stunning backdrop of the Harris moonscape landscape and hills is sublime. Sitting in the cozy hot tub watching the milkyway for shooting stars was something else! The chalet itself is cozy with plenty space for weekend walking gear and amenities for cooking whatever you fancy! The hosts Sharon and Tony couldn't have been more helpful or friendly during our 3 night stay! Absolutely would return for more Island adventures and little bit of private seclusion far from anyone!
