Having read previous reviews thought I would make some comments on my stay here. There was nothing dirty, sticky or dusty. Really gorgeous views where the cottage is situated overlooking a lake. However there were cobwebs which are to be expected in a cottage, in addition to LOTS of spiders which again is to be expected in a cottage. I was reading the owners response to a review about there being new wooden blinds - there were no blinds in either of the upstairs rooms in our cottage and we managed this by hanging up a blanket over the curtain rail. Curtains were transparent. No curtains or blinds in bathroom.

Booked a week long holiday and unfortunately had to cut it short. Tried our hardest to stay there for the full 7 nights but the conditions were poor, considering the fact it’s supposed to be a 4 star cottage. Stayed in the cottage the owners refer to as ‘Deri’, the cons outweigh the pros if I’m honest. The pictures really speak for themselves; but anyway as you walk in 1 - The kitchen is sticky, and the appliances are gross and old; the fridge stinks because the electricity constantly turns off - happened to us several times, during the night the fridge and radiators would turn off, nice touch considering it’s winter. So we had to throw a fair bit of food away, and woke up freezing. The utensils are covered in a nice generous thick layer of dust and dirt. So cooking is a no right off the bat. 2 - The couches. The crumb covered, used tissue hidden in between the pillows, random flute jammed inside couches. Nice thing that they left that flute for us, something to do considering there’s no WiFi even though the listing claimed that there is in fact WiFi. 3 - Old fake pictures. The pictures on the website made it look fresh and clean, nice bright living area with white walls. Nope. It’s all been painted a navy blue colour which is chipping off, leaving the place looking tacky and like a cave. 4 - The bathrooms. The downstairs bathroom or wet room I guess is just ew. The shower drain doesn’t drain anything, so you just stand in dirty water which goes past your ankles. The upstairs bathroom has slanted walls, so as you enter you hit you head, as you stand up from the loo you hit your head and same with the bath. The hot water also stops working after about 4 minutes, so freezing bath or no bath. 5 - Spiders and cobwebs. The spiders are actually included in the price, they’re permanent tenants so keep that in mind. 6 - Hot tub. The day we arrived, the hot tub turned off and we didn’t want to mess with anything so we asked the owner to come and help, she spoke to me as if I was an inconvenience. I told her I was unable to turn the hot tub on and her response was “Oh honey”. 7 - No washing machine. There’s a dishwasher? But no washing machine. 8 - The sticky blue instruction manual. A big blue folder was left on the table which included everything you can’t and can do. There’s also a laminated piece of paper in the upstairs bathroom which basically says to limit the usage of the toilet. 9 - Tv doesn’t work, so if you don’t bring a laptop you’re sat in silence. 10 - The actual advert on cottages.com was removed before we arrived which was extremely suspicious. Positives : 1 - There were towels left in the bathrooms. 2 - The beds seemed fairly clean. However, the duvet is extremely heavy so, unsure about that. 3 - A man came with clean curtains and installed them. 4 - Hot tub, if it doesn’t turn off of course, because then you have to wait a whole day for it to get warm. Overall a very disappointing experience considering we drove over 4 hours to stay here, one big waste of money and time. Ended up contacting cottages.com and got a refund for the 4 days we didn’t use up which was the only good thing. Shame really because the views and surrounding area is beautiful. If you’re just using the cottage as a place to sleep you’ll probably be fine and won’t notice how unclean it is; but if you’re looking to actually chill and spend some time relaxing in the cottage, is a no-go.

Overall it was lovely spending time with my partner and our pup on her first holiday! We were just very disappointed and didn’t think it was very professional that the owner, or anyone living there renting out the cottage, came over to introduce themselves or let us know anything we needed to know. We do think their should be more lighting over the hot tub as it was very dark, but lovely during the day even in the autumn. Also with me being very apprehensive about anyone watching me, their were no curtains on the downstairs windows and we had to blu-Tack up towels for me to feel comfortable in any way I could. Also we were showering and bathing and the hot water would randomly cut out and be freezing cold!

Response from Nici Evans, Owner at Rose Hill Farm
Responded 9 Oct 2021
What can I say - there are brand new stylish hand made, beautiful wooden blinds on mentioned windows above - also a 30 page, packed with information welcome book for our guests - with my number clearly marked and an explanation that during the pandemic that less contact with the guests was understandable but they could text me for anything they needed - also the above guest claims they had a 'pup' which was never mentioned to me or that they have not paid the additional charge of £30 for the dog - either they are making it up (as peeps don't have to have stayed at the accommodation to review) or the above guest owes me for a dog they didn't ask to bring not have paid for

A group of us booked out all the pods/domes and it was an incredible week. The owner was lovely, so helpful and arranged lots for us. The views from the pods were stunning and we had an excellent time relaxing and having fun. Brilliant location, close to town but felt so tucked away in nature. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed, the pods were lovely and a real luxurious ‘glamping’ experience. It worked really well as a group and we could congregate in the barn all together. I would love to visit again!!

We stayed at the dome for a week, it was very spacious and a lovely place to spend time with friends. We were greeted on arrival by the lovely site host and given many ideas for activities to do both on site and in the nearby area. Overall the week was very fun and I would recommend it to everyone, you can’t go to Wales without a stay at Rosehill farm.

The place was excellent. The views from our dome were beautiful and sight itself was located very near to the local beach and a river with loads of options for kayaking ,paddle boarding etc. The dome itself had a lovely outside area where you could sit and chat and the beds were extremely comfy and well kept. Overall a brilliant week and I would definitely come again.

We came down for the first time together all as friends, 5 of us and we all stayed in the dome. At night the dome gave us a beautiful view of the sky so whilst lying in our beds we were able to gaze at the stars. We also had a brilliant outside area where we could sit around, chat and eat food. More importantly the day activities were amazing. We were blessed with a good week of weather. The beach was only a 15 minute drive away, (not overcrowded!) and had incredible views. On site of the farm is a river, where you can be provided with paddle boards, kiyaks and surf boards. I chose the paddle boards and had a great day on the water. It is really a lovely atmosphere, and the owners made us feel very much welcome. Would undoubtedly recommend for a nice getaway!

Not enough people leave good reviews these days. We have just returned from a short stay at the lovely Rose Hill Farm and stayed in the Deri Cottage. It has a lovely homely and cosey feel with a gorgeous space for friends or family to enjoy. The backdrop of the river, Cardigan and its castle from the lovely hot tub make for a relaxing time away. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need and MORE to enjoy a home cooked meal! – or Nic (The Owner) provided menus for local Takeaways. Staying away from home always makes me feel a little uneasy about the cleanliness of the house, this was to anything to worry about as it was spotless! All the cottages have been recently renovated and the pictures really do not do it justice - You could really tell there was a real eye for detail and personal touches made it feel like a home away from home! The only small critiques are - the dishwasher did not work (Nic is aware of this and sending someone to fix it). The curtains in one of the bedrooms were a very thin material making it difficult to sleep in late in the morning and the frequent use of the wet room caused the water to pool and not drain properly. We are definitely planning dates to return! Cannot wait to go back!

So wish I'd not looked at TripAdvisor before I arrived as I expected the worst. Absolutely blown away. How dare people moan. Amazing place old cottage and the views come for free. We researched before we arrived and bought logs, candles, matches. 100% recommend to couples and families. Hot tub at dusk is a must. AND THIS IS DAY 1.
