We have just spent our 4th stay at Fishguard Bay in the last 15 months, and within about 8 weeks we are making our 5th visit with family. It is a little gem of a site, with fantastic views, the site is well cared for and the staff very helpful. We have stayed in 3 different lodges, they have all been superb, and are well equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. There's nothing like snuggling under a rug on the sofa during the colder months when the weather outside is a bit trying. The position of the site is handy to lots of places of interest nearby, you really are spoilt for choice. When you find and experience this site, it just keeps drawing you back. Happy holidays to those who wish to give it a try.

Lovely stay for a weekend, a few weeks before Christmas. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a small shop on site. Clean and well presented lodge. Private garden area with hot tub & not over looked. Lovely quiet site. Great views and costal path.

Unsatisfactory holiday accommodation in Ty Gwyn November 2023. 1. On arrival, all the crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and even the slate table mats had to be thoroughly washed before we could use any of them as not only were they stained/dirty one plate even had a part of a sausage roll still stuck to it. So obviously had not been washed or checked from the last guest, which is not only unsanitary but completely unacceptable. 2. Ground floor twin room had a VERY strong smell of damp along with: a. the radiator in the bathroom was not working – when I pointed this out said that a new radiator was on order b. the heating in the bedroom itself was also not working said they was unaware of this and would see if he could get a plumber out to sort, which did not happen.. This meant both radiators in the bedroom were not working which I assume was the reason that a small oil filled/electric radiator was provided (not that this could be used in the cold bathroom or warm enough to take the damp smell away). The radiator under the window also had black mold on the wall to the sides and behind 3. Inability to close the Secret Room door a. which caused sleepless nights for the two people staying in the room due to noise from the corridor and downstairs. b. they initially said that he would move the hinge back up (evidence on frame that this had been moved down due to split in frame) and this should solve the issue c. when we got back to Ty Gwyn later that day this had not been fixed. 4. Hot tubs / swim pool a. We were informed 2 days before that the swim pool was out of order b. Both hot tubs on arrival were on a low temp and on the Sunday when we went to use them (put the temp up before 9am), they only heated up enough to use at 10pm in the night which was too late for us to use Have complained 4 times since November and apart from emails saying that they are looking into this had nothing back.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in replying to your emails. Reception has forwarded them on to me each time, which has always been at a time when I am not at my desk and returning to an avalanche of other emails and workload to deal with. This is no excuse however and I will get to them soon. To address your issues however; 1) This is highly unusual for our housekeeping team, who operate to normally high standards. Without seeing these before you remedied them yourself it is difficult to assess but all housekeeping staff were alerted to this complaint and that if it were the case then it is not acceptable. 2a) I accept this and it had already been scheduled in for remedy at the earliest opportunity that bookings would allow once discovered. A leaking door frame it seems was to blame and had rotted the timber flooring beneath the tiles. This was fully stripped and refitted in December. 2b) Apologies for this unforeseen problem that we were unable to resolve in house and had to wait for a plumber to attend. We did provide an alternative source of heating as you say in the meantime. 3) I think this was attempted but was deemed to need a more in depth fix to prevent the risk of it moving slightly again and the door becoming stuck closed which of course is a more serious concern. This should however of been relayed to you and I apologize if there a lack of communication there. 4a) Similar to the heating issue in one of the bedrooms, sometimes technical issues occur that we have to await external engineers to attend to. In the case of the swimspa this was a faulty heater part that had failed that we had to order and wait for and for which some recompense was offered I believe. 4b) This does not make sense to me as the hot tub team report that they were at temperature when chemical testing was carried out and on refilling prior to your arrival. I really am sorry that your stay was less than perfect and I accept some failings on our part, albeit not all within our control. Please bare with me and I will be reaching out to your email as soon as possible to reply more personally. Kind regards, Mark (owner)

I haven't visited this place yet (I'm due to arrive Sep 24) but I'm writing a review for Poppy at Fishguard Bay Resort. I booked through HoSeasons and I was having an absolute nightmare trying to switch my Lodge over. She has been nothing short of AMAZING and nothing was too much for her. After recommending the perfect Lodge, she contacted HoSeasons on my behalf and sorted absolutely everything out. She is an absolute credit to the team and I'm so thankful for everything she did to help me today. Thank you so much again Poppy!!!!

We had a lovely four night stay at lodge 19, the keepers. The lodge was welcoming on arrival, it was warm, well lit and there was a welcome pack. The decor of the lodge is nice, and a perfect base for us. The lodge was also very clean. We ate in every evening due to having a toddler, and the lodge had most things that we needed in the kitchen. There is a lot of space in the lodge with ample storage. The hottub is maintained regularly, and was clean and welcoming. The living room and outside balcony have stunning views overlooking the sea. There isn’t much on site, or in the local areas, but this is what we wanted for a week or rest and relaxation. My only criticism is that the main bed was very uncomfortable, to the point that I couldn’t sleep in it, so had to share the single room with my daughter. This is an easy fix however and would not deter me from returning or recommending to family and friends.

My 4th time at this resort… love how quiet and peaceful it is, right on the coast for long walks with my dogs, the cabin was clean and tidy, nothing out of place.. and the sheltered hot tub/ jacuzzi in the nest cabin was so private and ready for use when I arrived! Thank you for yet another amazing stay! Can’t wait for the next time!

We had such a lovely stay here last week we really did not want to come home … the lodge was so well equipped and spotlessly clean the welcome pack was just a nice little added gesture from Fishguard bay resort, the hot tub was maintained every day and it was lovely and warm to get in to,the staff were so friendly especially Laura at reception and housekeeping they have nicknamed me “ the ferry lady” because I asked housekeeping about the times of the stena ferry going out they asked Laura at reception to let me know it had started it’s engine ready to leave the harbour and Laura went out of her way to phone us to say the ferry had started up and not to shut our curtains and yes I watched Stena go out lol we really cannot wait until next November as we are returning as a family … Thank you Fishguard bay resort for our stay it was absolutely amazing!! 😊
