This guest house is over priced, the building inside and out is very tired and the bedrooms are particularly dated with uncomfortable single beds and not at all clean with stains on the bedding, carpets and the headboards all of which are stained all from so much use from the previous occupants which is most unpleasant to find. We had booked in for three nights but only stayed for one.The evening meal was of poor quality and not at all what we expected, the breakfast on the other hand was very well cooked. We could not recommend this guest house to anyone and were more than happy to leave.

We liked the laid back attitude of the hosts Jeff and Sue and the atmosphere is this family-run guest house. Nothing was too much trouble, friendly staff too. They offered home cooked meals and a great cooked breakfast, both with a wide choice of menu. Great views from the bedroom windows across fields to hills in the background. Ideally located for walks and as a base from which to visit the many sights Wales had to offer. It’s just over an hour to Aberystwyth on the coast. It’s about a 25 minute walk to Llandrindod Railway Station, Post Office, banks and shops. 20 minutes walk to picturesque Llandrindod Lake and Boat House Café and picnic area. 10 minutes walk to Texaco fuel station, or 2 minutes drive. Large car park Highland Moors is a large guest house rather than a hotel, so some may find it a bit basic. There is no lift, bedrooms are on the first and second floor. We had bedroom with en-suite and a amply sized TV room. But that is the beauty of the place, no sterile corporate fixtures and fittings in this 1800s house.

We had a very comfortable room (number 5). The breakfasts were very good and cooked fresh. We had the evening meals on all four nights and were impressed by the quality and standard of the cooking. One very picky complaint was the lack of seasoning in the home made steak pie, that's all that could be complained about, not bad for two meals a day for four days for a party of five I reckon.
