Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Commodore is such lovely hotel. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was comfy & clean. Food was excellent. It was the best hotel breakfast that we've had in ages. Delicious and hot, which makes a change, so many hotel buffets are just luke warm. Well done & hope to be back next year.

We stayed at the Hotel on our brief visit to Llandrindod Wells. The Hotel building is old and full of quirky fun and everything was clean and warm. The Hotelier is a delight; the breakfast marvellous and its been a while since I have had such a good glass of beer.

Very atmospheric and cosy. Love the quirky bedroom themes and the open fire in the lounge. Relax and enjoy. Lots to see and do and lovely walks in the area. Would love to return someday - it was fab.

Judging by the reviews this is a hotel that divides people! The staff are really nice, the food was pretty good and the hotel has a nice feel to it but the horrors of the decor with the rooms (not the public areas) are difficult to overlook. It has, by some margin, the most astoundingly bad interior design I've ever witnessed in a hotel. It was genuinely disturbing and the room left me feeling low level agitated throughout the entire stay. As for carpet around the toilet - outdoor shoes mandatory for using it! Overall though, I did enjoy my stay.

Young and lovely staff, hotel located in the middle of town, good parking and nice veranda to sit out on. The beer was reasonably price too, no complaints with breakfast either. The room (rm 15) was terribly run down. I compared it to the one shown on the hotels website and thought I’d been catfished! If I’d been staying with my wife I’d have walked away but I was on my own so stayed. For £110 a night they need to refurb.

I visited the Commodore Hotel as part of a wet motorbike tour through Wales and thoroughly enjoyed the stay in every way. Firstly we felt guilty walking into the reception in our sodden biking gear but the staff were really friendly and welcoming, as they were throughout our stay. The hotel lobby etc. was clean, tidy and comfortable as were our spacious rooms. The rooms had every facility (tea/coffee/hair dryer/TV etc.) and I had a comfortable nights sleep. We enjoyed a good evening meal and breakfast, menu options were a little limited but I enjoyed the food and vegetarian/vegan alternatives were available (if needed). We were also able to relax over a few dinks in the comfortable bar. A special word though on the very young staff. I am aware how difficult it is for many businesses to employ staff in the UK these days and I am sure that the Commodore has the same issues, but the young people who served us throughout our visit were obviously relatively new to the challenging world that is the service industry - but they all worked really hard and were pleasant and courteous and a credit to the hotel. Thank you guys and girls.
