Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a treat! We had been told that the food wouldn't disappoint ... and they weren't wrong there! Beautifully presented food with interesting details and loads of flavour. Venison was really tender, served with a wide range of perfectly cooked vegetables and the sort of gravy you can't help but finish. The only problem ... the desserts are equally appetising (my husband particularly rates the sticky toffee pudding) ... and we were getting somewhat overfilled by the end of the meal! With a pleasant ambiance, genial host/chef and pleasant waitress, this was a memorable anniversary meal. But beware - the host seems to have a wicked sense of humour ... if you are gullible like me! Thanks, Peter.

Visited for Sunday lunch while on holiday in local area and was very impressed. Lovely place with both food and service excellent. Very good value for money, definitely would highly recommend visiting and hopefully will get the chance to check out again later in the week.

We stumbled across this hidden gem purely by accident driving home from Holiday. Beautifully appointed inside and spotlessly clean. We sat outside on the balcony overlooking the river with our dog and it was idyllic . We had tea which was served in a lovely service , and my wife and daughter had scones with jam and cream. I had an enormous tea cake . Everything was super tasty , and staff were attentive and friendly . All the food we saw being served looked really nice . Definitely worth a visit and we will be back again next time we are this way

As wonderful as ever. Fantastic food, brilliant accommodation and such charming staff. Sat on the balcony over the river Irfon chatting to owner/chef Peter, such a commitment to service in the Drovers and to the local people. Will look for the next excuse to come here, alone, with Sandi, or with my local cycling club.

Peter is extremely rude and aggressive, we were publicly accosted by him during our visit. I would never return! Up-tight atmosphere, over priced food and shockingly disorganised service. Avoid! Don’t waste your time or money here.

Last Saturday afternoon, my party, three meat eaters, a vegetarian and one vegan, booked a table for a special celebration. We were given a warm welcome and showed to a clean, beautifully laid table by the sunny window. The menu offered plenty of variety for all dietary requirements. Indeed, as a vegan I felt spoilt for choice with all three courses. All our meals were freshly cooked, beautifully presented, full of taste and served with a genuine smile. Delicious! 👌 Peter is the perfect host and thanks to he and his lovely staff, my Mum felt that she had truly had a special 80th birthday. Diolch o galon.

We popped in on our way to a funeral in Llanelli for a coffee. The gorgeous little "snug" was so inviting and full of character but it was a beautiful sunny day so we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the river. The lovely waitress asked us if we'd like cake too and we both chose the lemon cake which was delicious as was the coffee. We will definitely be back because if the cake is anything to go by then the food will be out of this world.
