Literally just arrived and oh my goodness, what an incredible gorgeous place, hosts are amazing, small touches, shampoo, cotton wool and as they knew I was vegan they even supplied vegan biscuits plus scones homemade of course, dogs are just an added bonus, fresh milk and orange in the mini fridge, just a gorgeous place xx

This is my favourite BnB. We’ve stayed at many but this beats them all. The BnB is just outside the village of Builth Wells. We booked directly with the owners, Glen and Nev, staying in the Meadow Room with a huge picture window over looking rolling hills and the farm. Glen makes sure there is everything you might possibly need including lovely products in the bathroom and fruit, cake and sherry in the living room. The TV was fabulous and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was hot and delicious, delivered to our door in a basket with farm fresh eggs. Their farm dogs are gorgeous and love a tummy rub. They stay outside and the apartment is spotlessly clean. Loved it!!

What a wonderful place to stay. Glen and Nev made us so welcome. We stayed in the Meadow Room, a fantastic location overlooking spectacular scenery. The room was well appointed and comfortable with lots of extras to make our stay more comfortable. We ordered our breakfast in advance and it was delivered to our room the following morning. We enjoyed it on the patio, the top quality food made even more special by the views over the mid Wales contryside. Frankly, if you are tired of chain like hotels with impersonal service and want to go somewhere unique then Smithfield Farm is a wonderful alternative. You will not be disappointed. A pleasure to go somewhere whose owners still understand that excellent customer service instills a loyal customer base. We will definitely return.

We recently spent four nights at this wonderful B and B, in the Meadow Room. Glen is a wonderful host who looked after us well. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean, spacious and had everything we needed, plus lots of extra bits… homemade cake, biscuits, and even some sherry! The meadow room comes with its on patio and grassy area, all with a stunning countryside view over farmland, which you can enjoy from inside as well. We were lucky enough to stay when the field had new lambs which we loved watching. Breakfast is ordered the day before and served in your room at a proper dining room table; Glen cooks it all fresh and delivers it to your door, and you serve it up and enjoy it whilst enjoying that amazing view. It always arrived piping hot and, although we weren’t sure about breakfast in our room before we went, we loved it as it made it private and relaxed. We also enjoyed meeting the farm dogs and cat too! Overall, this B and B offers a peaceful retreat, but is also close enough to local amenities, pubs and restaurants and places to visit. We’d highly recommend the red kite centre, including tickets to be in a photographic hide if you enjoy photography. We loved our stay and have already rebooked to go back soon! Thanks to Glen and Nev for their hospitality.

Back again at Smithfield Farm. It's one of the best B and B places we've been in. Huge attention to detail and some really lovely thoughtful extras. Great views from your bed of the Radnorshire hills. Fantastic breakfast served in your room. Two spacious rooms to choose from. Wonderfully situated 2 miles outside Builth Wells in a peaceful rural location. Really lovely hosts.

An absolutely perfect stay. Large, beautifully furnished room, extra large comfortable bed with lovely linens. The owners have really thought of everything and are super helpful. Couldn’t have asked for more. Wonderful view and very quiet. Will look forward to staying again.

This place is what I like to call “a hidden gem”. We needed a nice place to stay just for one night whilst in Builth Wells for a golf comp. Am I glad I found Smithfield Farm! I knew as soon as we arrived and met the family (including animals) that we were going to have a good stay. The views from the meadow suite were second to none and some beautiful lemon drizzle cake ready for us in the room. The room itself was beautiful. Really nicely furnished and such a cosy feel. On having a look around, there was nothing that had not been though of. Fantastic facilities. A nice drop of sherry if you fancy a tipple, fresh fruit, chocolates, toiletries, plenty of towels, coffee, tea, biscuits, sky tv. You name it. And all really good quality. The bed was huge and we had the most restful sleep. Very comfy and warm. And then last but not least, breakfast. Best breakfast we’ve ever had. The room already had a good choice of cereals, bread for your toast, fresh milk, butter and orange juice in the fridge. Then Glen brings your brekky at the time you request all wrapped up in a basket and delivers it to your door. We had a full cooked breakfast and you could taste how fresh it all was. Amazing! Thank you so much for a brilliant and welcoming stay. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay for longer! We will definitely come back here without a doubt if we’re in the area again and we will recommend the place to anyone who wants to just get away from it all and have a peaceful stay in the most idyllic surroundings. Thanks again.

Omg I’m going to hate writing this as the more people who know the harder it will be to rebook. Glen & Nev are so wonderful and friendly and Nev wants your stay to be as wonderful as the views. We stayed in the Meadow Suite. It was beautiful, a home from home. The suite was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable (best night sleep I’ve had in ages). The bathroom has plenty of towels and everything else you would need. The main room has plenty of storage and hanging spaces the breakfast table is made up for you there’s milk, butter, water and glass bottles with orange juice a kettle & toaster mugs honestly everything you would need. There are also 2 cafetières with fresh coffee if you prefer jams marmalade’s and the extra special touch home made cake and shortbread biscuits. To views are amazing I could get used to waking up to them every morning. So many different species of birds I sat for ages just listening an watching the kites soaring through the sky. This is my new place to stay when up visiting my family. I can’t wait to go back. Thank you Glen & Nev for a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back soon and see you all. Missing Misty to.

We recently stayed at Smithfield Farm (in the Meadow Room) for 5 days and absolutely loved it. Glenn and Nev are such kind and welcoming hosts and had thought of everything to ensure we were completely safe in terms of Covid. The room has a spectacular view of the countryside and red kites regularly visited the skies, one perching on the fence nearby. Breakfast was delivered to our door and was plentiful, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. Yummy home-made cake on arrival too. Builth Wells is an attractive town and an excellent base for exploring mid-Wales. Our hoped-for walk in the Elan Valley had to be abandoned when rain stopped play, so there’s nothing for it - we’ll just have to come back some other time and do it all again..
