We recently stayed at Smithfield Farm (in the Meadow Room) for 5 days and absolutely loved it. Glenn and Nev are such kind and welcoming hosts and had thought of everything to ensure we were completely safe in terms of Covid. The room has a spectacular view of the countryside and red kites regularly visited the skies, one perching on the fence nearby. Breakfast was delivered to our door and was plentiful, with everything tasting fresh and delicious. Yummy home-made cake on arrival too. Builth Wells is an attractive town and an excellent base for exploring mid-Wales. Our hoped-for walk in the Elan Valley had to be abandoned when rain stopped play, so there’s nothing for it - we’ll just have to come back some other time and do it all again..

I was reluctant to write this review for the most selfish of reasons, if everyone realises how good it is they’ll all want to go and then there might not be room for us! So here’s my reluctant review. You are greeted by Nev & Glen like you are family and taken to the most beautiful room with everything you could possibly need and stunning views! The room is really beautifully decorated throughout and the personal touches are well considered, including the slice of home made cake waiting for you. The views from the patio and room are simply stunning and made the most of with the floor to ceiling glazed doors, so you can lie in bed in the morning and simply relax with a cuppa and let it all soak in. Breakfast is served in your room- and is simply extraordinary. They bring it to a discrete little back door by your bathroom at the time you choose , in a wicker basket wrapped up. We worried it wouldn’t be hot but it was and the full English was provided in heated metal servers that kept it nice and hot throughout breakfast. The food was of good quality and well cooked. There is a patio that you can laze on and let the views sink in. It was raining during our visit so we enjoyed the views from the really comfy armchairs just inside the doors. In short this is a little slice of heaven tucked away in the beautiful welsh countryside with a great breakfast and wonderful hosts! The only question you leave with is “when can we go back?”

Great location (we were visiting Llandrindod Wells) and outlook (see photo) and our host couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The accommodation and breakfast was first class and we will be returning! 👏👏👏👏👏

We stayed here for the weekend. We’d booked the Garden room but as the Meadow Room was available the owner upgraded us on arrival. Both rooms are beautifully presented with little touches from the owners everywhere; sherry, fruit, home made cakes, chocolates, biscuits and a fridge with bottled water and fresh milk. Breakfast was superb. You order beforehand and it arrives at a specified time in a basket / trolley , so you can eat it in the dining space in the room whilst admiring the stunning views. The owners greeted us on arrival and could not have been more welcoming or helpful. A delightful B&B in a great setting. The best one I’ve I ever stayed at, to be honest. If you are in the area looking for accommodation don’t look anywhere else, just book here and you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommended.

The design and outlook from the 2 guest rooms are such that you can easily forget you are attached to a farm house. We recently stayed for a weekend and Glen and Nev were perfect hosts. Nev was keen to pass on all the credit to Glen for all the lovely personal touches that we experienced in our stay, but it's clear that all the family work hard to welcome guests. We will be back, please tell the perfectly behaved Misty and Puss Puss.
